Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
The computer is a HP Pavillion dv9000. When I try to turn on the computer. The lights along the top come on and the LCDs at the fron show I have power. However, the computer just hangs at this point, I can't get the computer to boot to even start windows. Any advice would be appreciated.
Do you have the OS installation disk? If so, insert the the disk in the cd/dvd drive. When the disk boots, it will ask if you want to install or repair the OS system. Click repair, when the prompt comes up, type the word "help". Find the disk scan prompt text (example: dskscn) type the disk scan text after the C:/ and let the system repair the directory.
Chances are after the scan disk is complete you will be able to boot windows. I would suggest at that point to make sure you have or do backup all your files for safe keeping.
Good luck, let me know.
