Question about Sony VAIO PCV-RX511 PC Desktop
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RA820G desktop for which I cannot enter the BIOS setup program. I discovered this when I installed a new higher capacity hard drive, with the original drive Ghosted to the new drive. I was then unable to enter the AMI BIOS and select the new drive as the boot device. I've contacted Sony, AMI, and ASUS, the motherboard manufacturer all to no avail. Something is preventing the BIOS setup program from starting. I have tried every BIOS setup keystroke scheme there is. What is going on here? Thanks, John
Since you have tried a series of keystrokes, you must be frustrated at this point. I'm not aware of exactly what you have done, so here are suggestions in case you have overlooked:
My understanding is that to access the BIOS on a Sony VAIO select F2. Also, try F1 or F3. Some AMI motherboards require you to press Del after powering on the computer.
You may need to press the BIOS access key several times to enter BIOS.
Let us know.
Hope this helps.
