Question about Canon ZR800 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

No Sound? I did a test recording and am able to playback and view it on the LCD. The sound is on and the volume is up, but the playback will not play with sound. Am I doing something else wrong? How do I know the sound recorded? Thanks!

Make sure the volume is up by press the function controls on the lcd display. Was there anything plugged into the mic input of the camera?

The ribbon cable to the lcd from the camera cracks and causes what you are talking about .
Normally the camera will still work buy using the eye viewfinder for recording and playback but you will not hear the sound unless the lcd door is open but then the picture in the viewfinder goes away when this door is open and comes back when it is closed

Audio in playback mode doesn't work

Hi There, Try this: Connect you camcorder to your tv set via a/v input cable. Put camera in cam mode so you can see the picture on the tv. Turn up the volume on tv and if it squeels, the mic on the cam is ok. Record something and then play it back on the tv, if its ok, then all your audio is functioning. This means that the SPEAKER on your camera is defective.
Thanks, mr cicmo

No sound

There would be sound on playback in camera and may be Volume is too low. To increase volume, touch P-MENU then VOLUME and increase ---> it.

No sound when playing back imported file in PC can be issue of sound driver of Windows or sound codec for media Player in your PC.

You can download Cole2k codec pack (audio included) and install it in PC. This will enable your PC to playback all kind of media files.

Sound but no picture.

if you are able to playback previously recorded cassette and the picture is perfect then its not the head. then the problem is with the image grabbing section i.e. the CCD. May be its damaged and needs replacement.

No audio during playback

On my handycam you have to hit the Volume + button while playing back. Everytime you playback it starts volume at zero and you have to volume up to hear anytime you playback.
