Question about Kitchen Ranges

Oven won't work

The oven worked fine (propane) Now it won't ignite. I don't know what caused this. This is located in a rental property so I don't know anything except what they told me. The top burners work fine but the oven does not. What could cause this? Is there a pilot light, or some kind of safety switch in case they ran out of fuel ? I realize I don't have much info so anything will help. Also what are some good ways to troubleshoot this? Thank you.

Re: oven won't work

The gas valve has gone bad replace valve and igniter at the same time the older igniter will not have a value (ohm) to pull in the new will also have to turn on burner after installing new parts and adjust the flame using the brass fitting on the valve going to the burner assembly.but before you replace any thing make sure you have fuel to the range good luck

Sometimes the pilot light goes out on this type of oven. This could be caused by a draft, or sudden jolt. Even if the top burner is working, the bottom won't go on until the pilot is lit. Check your manufacturers' instructions for locating and re-lighting the pilot.
Best of luck.

I have two magic chef model 6157wuw ranges in my house which operate on propane. The stove burners work perfectly however the ovens produce no heat, no smell of propane and no sign of a pilot or glowing...

It sounds like your propane line is obstructed or your igniter has failed. If your igniter has failed, the propane will not flow until a heat source, from your igniter, has heated a sensor to let the unit know to allow propane to flow. If the propane line is obstructed, it is probably a spider web or eggs from an insect. A pipe cleaner is the best way to remove these obstructions. It would be advisable to have a qualified technician look at your unit.

We have a Frigidaire electronic ignition range about a decade old. The stove works fine. But lately we've noticed if we're using any stove elements the oven won't ignite and heat up. Conve

Sounds like the pressure regulator on the stove is going bad. The pressure regulator is located in the back. Your gas supply line should connect directly to it.

Gas oven will not ignite

I would be suspect of the temperature control valve based on your previous experience. I am assuming the safety valve you are speaking of was really a regulator.

Amana Oven Issue

If you have an Amana range that allows heat to escape from the ranges/ovens when used in their intended manner and is causing irreparable damage to other components or the ranges/oven, including but not limited to, the units’ control board. This problem can discolor the units, diminishing their value and compromises the ability of the ranges/ovens to perform in their intended manner.

If so, this on going problem poses a significant safety risk to their users and property. I know many of you are frustrated and many of you have complained to Amana and have been told that, “There have been no complaints or that the problem does not exist”. Well they won’t be able to say that any more if the thousands of us come together as one and voice our concerns and complaints.

If you would like to be heard and possibly have your range replaced or fixed please send me an email of your existing problem along with your units’ serial number and model number and together we will be heard.
