Need to know a model number on the unit? Plus before you send good money for parts take to a good shop and have them do a compression test on the engine. You would not want to spend money on something that may take more than a few dollars to get running.

Need to know what model of trimmer you have to help you solve this problem. I would look at getting a compression check on the engine to see if the engine is okay before spending any money. If the engine compression is no good, the repairs to fix it exceed the cost of buying a new one.

  1. The line from the tank with the fuel filter goes to the bottom port of carb.
  2. The top port on the carb goes to the suction port of primer bulb (To tell which port is the suction port put your finger on one port and push bulb if the bulb collapses and doesn't return then that is the suction side).
  3. The outlet port of the bulb goes to the non-filter side of the fuel tank.
Good luck!

It leaks when the car is on and when the car is off i can see it running down the fuel line there is not a lot of gas in the car so i dont think is the tank

fuel lines could be cracked on the tank top. if its not had them changed then would think it would be this. as over time they split and crack. and 92 modle would think it was this.

Evap system problem

usually a bad gas cap if that doesnt solve your problem you can trace all the evap lines going from your gas tank forward looking for cracks if you dont find any cracked or broken lines you may have to take it to someone with a smoke machine to put smoke through the lines to find your leak. try the gas cap first. if this was helpful please leave me good feed back.

Replacing broken gaslines... were do they go?

the primer bulb draws gas through the carb 'C' and back to the tank'T' leaving a small amount of fresh gas in the replace the lines from filter to carb & bulb to tank, you may have to remove handle & split the housing halves to find where lines enter tank.look in tank W/ a replace lines cut new line on an angle, feed a piece of # 14 copper wire through hole from inside tank.slide new line over wire, the wire will help align fuel line with hole.use needle-nose pliers to push line into tank,& to pull it through once you can see it.cut off end of hose you beat up with pliers.push filter on hose to carb.drop it back in tank."T' line is the return.dosn't matter which line is through top or bottom hole.

Fuel problem

take the gas cap off and look into the tank and see that the fuel filter is on the bottom of the tank and still secure to the fuel line.
Your tank will be slightly pressurized be sure your gas cap gasket is there and pliable.
same for your gas lines be sure they are relatively soft and dont crack easy if you move them?

try these couple items and see if any will help the cause

Leaking gas line in 1992 4 door Honda Civic

get a rubber hose that is just a little bigger than the gas line. slice it and wrap around hole. clamp tight with hose clamp *NOT TOO TIGHT THOUGH* you dont want to bend the line or crack the tubeing.
