Question about Minn Kota Maxxum 55 Freshwater Bow Mount Trolling Motor
Usually this is due to a power problem. More times than not I have seen this problem and it seems to always point to a connector that has come off internally (electrical push on connector). Also check the battery cable wires for corrosion and tight fitting wire.
The issue happens with vibration and the heating and cooling of the connectors. If not solved sooner than later, you'l run into all sorts of (expensive) problems.
Here's a schematic for you motor. Go over it and check all connectors:
