Question about Televison & Video
First check your lamp and make sure its good, look at the glass in front of the lamp for cloudyness and or white spikes. Look at the base of the bulb in its housing if its buldging replace it. If new lamp does not repair then you may have to replace the Optics Engine. But check ur lamp first, Also when color wheels go bad they make a loud whining noise when they are going bad. The tech may of just wanted to replace your entire engine for more money knowing you may just need a new lamp, If you have had the tv for at least 2yrs without replacing the lamp, then its time for a new one..
