Card-cover open I keep getting a "card-cover open" warning when I power on.  The door is closed, and it is not allowing me to do anything.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Look for the switch on the memory card door of your camera. Usually a small piece of plastic on the door closes the switch when the door is closed. Check to make sure that the plastic piece is not worn down and is making contact with the switch. You can confirm that this is the problem by powering on the camera while closing the switch manually with a toothpick. Make sure you keep your fingers clear of the extending lens while doing this. If the plastic is worn down or broken off, try attaching a small piece of scrap plastic with super glue.

Your Card Door Sensor is probably broken off. Camera can be taken apart(gently), probably about 7 screws. Sensor will be at the bottom of camera near battery compartment. With a small blade, gently cut away and remove remaining plastic pieces of sensor without damaging any other parts, leaving metal connectors at either side. LCD screen may need to be moved aside. Solder accross these connectors. This will fix your problem.

Camera shows write protect when open

When what is open? Always keep the battery / memory card door closed. If it is not closed correct, the camera won't work as expected. To protect the file system, when someone should pul out the memory card, while the camera is accessing the memory, it will or shut down completely, or at least protect the memory card against writing to it.
Before opening the battery / memory card cover, always make sure the camera is completely shut off. That means no light is allowed to burn or flicker. The memory card can also be write protected (SD cards) when the lock switch is down like in the picture on the 32GB card.
Before you can make any picture the switch on the card should be up like on the 64GB card on the picture. 3635bcf4-65df-478c-a04d-92e341d15860.jpg

I bought a Silver Spur ' as seen ' The rear nearside door won't open. The chrome knob inside the car is not connected to anything and the inside and outside hanles pull OK but don't do...

The door may be able to be opened with a "slim jim" or similar device. To do this you need to know the mechanical details inside the door. Opening up the other rear door sounds drastic but it might help. If you can get it open then it should not be closed until it is fixed.

One way many car doors can be opened is to remove anything that is in the way of removing the inside door cover such as the bench seat and then remove the door cover. The rods and levers, etc can then be manipulated to open the door.

I hope this helps.

I accidentally drop my camera and the card cover cracked and i cannot closed it beacause the cover broke. i tried duplicating a cover but it always says Card-Cover Open. Is there a parts for this so i can...

It may be more trouble than it's worth to purchase a replacement. Simply use the duplicate cover that you fabricated. But to get your camera to work, you'll need to find some way to push in the door's safety pin switch seen in the lower left corner of the below picture. Try wedging a small piece of paper (spitball) in there to close the switch. That should allow the camera to work with your duplicate cover.

Card cover open olympus

To allow the camera to work - you may have to tape it closed. They are often made of "cheap" plastic and the tabs break! The camera shop may be able to order a replacement door (or you may search the Olympus web site for replacement parts.

Good LUCK!!

My screen keep showing the Card Cover Open Error even though the cover is closed. What can i do It says "Card Over Open" when it is closed

The card door sensor is either damaged, failing or gone completely. You can take camera apart, (7 screws I think) take the back off. Sensor is at the back of camera near the battery door. If sensor is missing, you will see 2 spots on the electronics board where it was connected. Carefully melt solder so that those two points are connected. If sensor is still in place it's probably damaged. Carefully remove sensor using small snips or something like that, with out damaging anything around sensor. Then solder 2 points together. Good Luck

My screen keep showing the Card Cover Open Error even though the cover is closed. What can i do

Somewhere on the door will be a small piece of plastic which when the door is closed makes contact with a microswitch which tells the camera the door is closed. Either this switch has broken or the piece of plastic has. Somewhere within the memory card receptacle you should find a small hole where the piece of plastic enters when the door is shut. Switch the camera on, leave the door open and push a wooden match or something of a suitable size made of plastic into this hole (be gentle) if the "door open" sign clears then the problem is with the prod built into the door. If it doesn't clear then the problem is with the switch. Actually this switch can be disabled or continually shorted out if it proves to be faulty. I have had a camera come in for an unrelated repair with the hole blocked up with plastacine to hold the swich closed. IT WORKED Stu

"Card-cover open" error message

It's when putting the card in.. typically you put it in and it clicks (so to speak).. if you delay removing your finger-push, it does something to the card and makes a Disconnect, although in looking at it, it looks just fine.. and the cover closes... A lot of people are reporting 'door open' errors. The micro-switch in the door housing is quite sensitive and pressure shifts from your hand on the door can cause it to trigger as if the door were opened. some get progressively worse. One fix is to add a little bit of length to the plastic that contacts the switch, either a layer of tape or a drop of epoxy, etc. This may help (or may not if the switch itself is flaky). Another fix discussed bypassing the switch altogether, obviously not for the faint of heart (or cameras in warrantee).
