Hello

If the amp is on the right output setting all should work properly, otherwise you should smell at the back of the amp and if you smell something like a capasitor he. However it is very unlikely that all the capasitors have blown at the same time, so if you see that the all the capasitors at the sound channels are fine trace the circuit and look if you can see something which look as if it has blown. Check the fuse as well. lastly you can check the ic's on the heatsink going to the sound channels.

That is all that i can think of right now. Hope this can help you.
Please rate the sollution.

Best regards

Why am I not getting sound anymore?

Amplifier issue. See if you are getting audio signal at audio outputs used for recording. If not, then it is NOT the audio amp and the proceeding circuits are responsible.

U might also want to check out your power supply voltages to make sure that the other components are being properly fed.

Dirty volume control on headphones. Try moving the volume control back and forth several times to clean off the contacts.

Check sound from headphones. These models have been known to have bad headphone jacks that make the unit think there are headphones plugged in even when there isn't. Sometimes just plugging in headphones and unplugging them will fix it for a while.

I think I just fixed a unit with the same problem. I opened the cover and found where the wire from the headphone jack plugs into a board just beside the power supply transformer. When removed, the unit appeared to select speakers as the output. Since the headphones are never used by the owner, I simply left the headphone cable unplugged. Unfortunately, I didn't have speakers to test it with but the unit appeared to be working correctly.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND out of my RCA RS2625, I have checked the wiring & all(the speakers wrkd well in the living room on the SHARP stereo when I tested them). Everything is displaying correctly...

Since you all ready tested the wiring and speakers, one or more audio output ic packs have shorted and will need to be replaced, you will need a technician to check the extent of repairs that will be required and I suggest an estimate.

I can disable the sound card, set the music bridge as the default sound output device and it works just fine (after rebooting). But if I enable the sound card again, even when keeping the music bridge as the default, the sound goes exclusively to the PC speakers, no matter what device the connection is switched to on the Linksys utility. (By the way the music bridge shows correctly to be connected or disconnected....with no effect on the sound output.) The major hassle is that any usable change of output device requires a reboot. Still testing. Not a single answer from the community. Also I never required the promised temporary password.

Try the other inputs and see if you have the same problem with them. That will let you know if the problem is the tuner or if it is something else.

Since your receiver does not shut off after a few seconds it should not have an amplifier problem. If it did shut off quickly it is know as the protect mode and normally indicates that you have a blown channel, not always, but normally it is that.

If you get no audio from any function, you may have a digital board problem which is a very difficult problem to isolate and repair.

A couple of things you can do to make sure it is not something like a wrong setting is to make sure that the "Tape Monitor" switch has not been pressed accidentally. If the "Tape Monitor" is engaged it wil appear that everything is normal with the display and functions, but you get no audio from anything unless you are recording on a tape. This can happen even with no tape deck connected to the unit. Study the display closely and see if "monitor" or "tape monitor" is lit up anywhere in the display, or if you have an led on the tape monitor or monitor switch, that led could also be lit up red. If you turn the volume up all the way, do you get a very faint amount of audio? If so, you probably do have the tape monitor engaged.

Also check that the speakers are activated. If you have only one set of front speakers you want to make sure that only those speakers are activated. You will have a button for speakers "A" and "B". Make sure that only speakers "A" are turned on. Some receivers will not have any output if you have both "A" and "B" turned on but only have speakers connected to the "A" speakers.
If your receiver has a button for the headphones make sure that is not engaged as well. Many receivers will not have output to the speakers if the headphones are turned on. Or if you have headphones connected, try unplugging them.

Those the only user type of things that you can do unless you have some good electronics troubleshooting skills and the proper tools. So if you have checked those things and still have no audio you need to take it in for service.

Here is a link that you can get your owners manual from online for free. It is always a good idea to study the owners manual to make sure you have everything connected properly and have the settings correct as well. Just go to this link and put in your model number exactly as it is on the front of the receiver to make sure you get the right manual. If you put in the wrong model number you will get no results when you search for it.

I hopes this helps, and if so a "FixYa" rating would be appreciated.

No Sound

when the amp is turned on does the unit make a clicking sound a few seconds after the display lights up.

if not the amp's is not happy with it's power or could have a speaker short. Check the display for a fault warning.

Otherwise check you speaker connections.
confirm that and A and B main speaker buttons are correct.

Try some headphones, if you get sound out of the headphone things might not be too bad, if nothing is output remove all your cables and try again.

Yes I know that can be nasty, so label all the cables first.
