This error indicates there's a problem with the cooling fan.Usually the one on the left hand side. It's probably clogged up with dust which slows it's rotation resulting in the error you are getting.

I set up my printer to print A10 envelopes and succeeded but now I want to print letter size paper and it sits on 05 Self Test then 57 Service.

57 is a motor error. You need to replace your motor. I saw one on ebay for 12 bucks. Easy to replace. Just remove the top the right side panel and you will see the motor. un-plug it and remove 4 screws and its out. Steven 818-888-0006

Still getting Print Cartridge Error after installing new HP cartr

please check the position of the catridges installed. it should be in a correct position. or you might have replaced the catridges in a wrong slot. if it does not work out then either connect your printer to different computer for printing or uninstall the software from your computer, then again reinstall the software.

I have a HP 6656A Printer Cartridge that sometimes works good and other times will fail the power on check. Error message varies between Ink Cartridge not compatabile, Check Color Cartridge (even though...

I got hold of another set of 56 and 57 Ink cartridges. By swapping the four of them in and out of two printers, I determined that one of the Black 57 cartridges was bad and caused a missleading error message to pop up saying to check the Color 57 cartridge. I don't know why I was getting different messages at first, but after several swaps in and out of two printers, the error message finally became consistant and I learned that the one Black 56 cartridge was the faulty guy. One Color 57 cartridge printed good but the other (newer one) left streaks on the Cyan and Magenta colors even after soaking the head surface for a few minutes and cleaning it with inkjet cleaner fluid.
The end result is that I have one good Color 57 cartridge and one good Black 56 cartridge which work good in two different printers.

By the way, can you email a labled pinout reference drawing of the hp56, 57 & 58 Ink Cartridges???

Error #57 unable to connect DHCP Svr

Sometimes you can unplug the printer for approximately 20 to 30 minutes to allow the memory to clear and everything should go back to normal. If not try the next steps I have given you. Error 57 is a main motor error. Remove the toner cartridge and see if the error goes away. If not then remove the fuser in the back with the power off. Lower back cover and remove two screws and slide out carefully. Turn the gear on the fuser to see if the rollers turn. If it is binded then the fuser is the issue and needs to be replaced. Check the gears on the right side to make sure nothing has fallen in and stops them from turning. If all ok, then the main motor needs to be replaced.
