Cloudy screen

It's possible that you have moisture on the inside of your camera, causing the sensor to fog up. It is also possible that you have fog on your lens as well. I have had cloudy images with my Nikon when it fogged up inside. The best thing to do is to make sure it dries out. This usually solves itself so long as you are in a dry location, but if not I would take your camera to a local repair shop to have it looked at and fixed. It really does sound like a moisture issue however. Do NOT dry your camera using heat or anything! If it doesn't dry on it's own, take it to a pro to get it fixed.

My TV looks really badly cloudy and the color is a little bit reddish orange. Does that mean I have to get the coolant for the bulbs or something and is it something fairly easy to do? Also the power...

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

NO, IF YOU SPILL ANY OF THE FLUID ON THE BOARDS THEY ARE RUINED AND ALSO IF YOU DO IT INCORRECTLY THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO RECONVERGE THE ENTIRE SET AND THIS TAKES A LOT OF TIME AND SKILL.

Picture is cloudy i go to the setup and sports, media, etc all are terrible any ideas

I have a philips magnavox and had two problems that I recently fixed using kits from www.TvRepairKits.com. I can't say enough about their kits and help. Without them I would have never been able to fix my TV set myself.

The first problem I jhad was the TV was looking 3D. After doing some homework I found out that this is a convergence problem. I bought a kit, followed the instructions, and to my amazement fixed it myself.

After building my confidence with the 1st repair I decided to get their CRT fluid kit. This kit fixes the dull video, or bright/halo looking video. If you have a magmavox set that is more than 5 years old your tv has this problem already. It happens on every set. As before I bought the kit, followed the instructions, and now my video looks factory new. Once again I wanted to say thanks to the team at Tv Repair Kits for putting together kits that the average joe can use.

To get a new remote call a local TV service company or you can order directly from the manufacture. The cloudiness of your colors are caused by possibility of two things or both: 1) The mirror and lenses inside your TV need cleaning (use window cleaner & soft cloth) spray liquid onto cloth, 2) The fluid in picture tubes need to replaced. To replace fluid (ethylene glycol) take tubes out of unit, drain fluid, clean fluid chamber, add new fluid. How you can tell if fluid is cloudy? Take off screen assembly look into each light (red, green, blue) the picture should be clear. The red tube, light, is normally okay, so use as referance.

On these sets, if your not experienced with this problem I would not try, but you could get the the part yourself and replace it. Call PTS 1800-844-7871 and ask to speak to a tech and he or she could tell you what you need and how to put it in. I just repaired a 51pp9202h/17 and would not want to do another. It has many boards in it and depending on the problem you could only buy another board and replace. Mine went black, I could hear audio but no picture. Thought it was the convergence board but it was the SSB the one with the Flyback on it. So after replacing almost everything I just bought another and its fixed now. So hope this helps
