Usually you distroy it on removal. I normally buy another filter and just replace it.

Water isn't going into my icemaker

look for issues with the water fill system. Inspect the fill tube and the fill cup area at the back of the ice maker to make sure that they are not clogged, confirm no foreign objects have disrupted the flow of water into the fill cup. If nothing obvious has caused the clog then suspect the inlet valve, tubing or low water pressure. Inspect the outlet tubing from the fill valve to the ice maker fill tube for any signs of restrictions and replace if necessary.

Check the water inlet valve for any restrictions. You will need to shut off the valve from the household water supply before you disconnect the inlet tubing. Some water inlet valves may have a screen to filter debris before it can enter the valve. If the screen is plugged, water flow will be restricted. Remove and clean the screen or replace the valve.

My kenmore quiet guard My partially fills and therefore does not clean. any suggestions

Possibly low water pressure; possibly a clogged inlet screen on the inlet valve; possibly a bad inlet valve (replace it).

When the 'wash' cycle finishes, the machine stops at the 'rinse and spin' cycle, and the 'prewash' LED flashes.

Victor. The prewash flashing is indicating a water fill issue. Rinse uses cold water only. check for clogged inlet screen on the cold water valve, and check if there is a screen on the supply valve also. If the inlet screen is all clogged up at the valve on the washer, you can clean it with a little windex and an old soft tooth brush. gently brush away any sediment or debris. If no filters are clogged, you will need to replace the fill valve assembley.

I have an old whirlpool stylemaster no.907675 and the water is just trickling out! Is this a filter problem? I have no idea how to fix this!!! Help please!

Water trickling is a sign of clogged inlet screens or faulty inlet valves. First turn off the water, remove the two hoses inspect them for debris. If clogged use a tiny hook to remove the screens clean and install. If they are not dirty your inlet valves are bad. Also has your water pressure seem any less in pressure? Good luck!

Maytag bravos doesn't use enough water

see this causes and fix it.
God bless you
Water comes in very slow This is usually a water valve problem or an inlet screen blocked. 1st check your inlet screens of your water valve. Turn your house water valve off to the washer, undo the fill hoses and inside the water valve, you will see a silver screen. If the screen is filled with water deposits, clean it out and re-install into valve. Don't forget to check your fill hoses also, some hoses come with screens that also may be clogged. Your cold water valve usually clogs before the hot water valve, all that sediment settles in your hot water tank and not in the screens. If you are on a well system, your screens usually clog more often. If your screens are good, then most likely your water valve needs replacing.

Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

The washer is not filling with water. Once the water is dispensed into the washer, water is not visible and the clothes do not get wet until half way through the washing cycle.

Hello

When the washer wont fill at all then the issue is either with a bad water inlet valve or clogged inlet screen. Please check the water line for any clogs/obstructions and try cleaning the inlet. Hope you understand that you might require water inlet valve replacement if the problem is still unsolved after cleaning. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Cold water not running

First you should remove the hoses and clean the screens in the ends of the hose, some hoses have screens in both ends. While the hoses are removed look inside the water inlet valve there should be a screen in there also remove and clean the screen out. Some screens will not be removable so you will need to clean in place or remove the water inlet valve. If all is clear you will need to check the solenoids on the water inlet valve for power. If the solenoid has power when put in a fill cycle and no water eneters your washer you will need to replace the water inlet valve. Most water inlet valves must be replaced as a unit, so if one solenoid fails you replace the hole valve assembly. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/topwaterinletvideo.html that will walk you thru the testing procedure. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. If you need help disassembling there are also videos of disassembling most styles. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models will be available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Maytag MAV6200 will not washer on cold water cycle. Could this be a problem with the push button switch? Washes on all other cycles. However, the warm water is very hot, not warm.

Your cold water inlet valve has more than likely fialed.or.... the inlet screen is completely clogged. First turn off the water to your unit both hot and cold water lines. Then select the wash cycle w
ith hot water only and listen for a hum from the inlet water valve. Then select cold and see if you hear a similar hum. If you do not hear a likewise hum then the cold water solenoid on the water valve has failed and will need to be replaced. (Sometimes this requires the entire water valve be replaced due to the design of the assy) If you hear a similar hum then remove the hoses from the water valve and check for a clogged inlet screen just inside the water hose attachment fitting. If you can not tell if it is clogged remove the screen and hold it up to the light. You should be able to see light through the screen. If it is clogged scrub and wash the screen under running water. It is prety easy to tell if you have it clean. Once you finish reinstall the screen in the water inlet valve, reconnect the hoses and turn on the water. Good luck.

Washer doesnt take hot water

All the symptoms described are typical of a water inlet valve that has either become clogged with sediment or has a solenoid failure. You can elect to replace the water inlet valve, or attempt to clean. Cleaning requires shutting off the water source and disconnecting the inlet hoses. Check the sediment screens in the water inlet valve and clean with cotton swabs and distilled vinger. Place the hoses in the wash tub and turn on the water supply to make sure the hoses are clog free. Sometimes a good cleaning can help. However, the majority of the cases involve replacing the valve. The following link explains how:

I hope this information is helpful. Anyone with questions are encouraged to post back and let me know.
