Probably a bad drive belt, they cost 20-30 bucks, possibly the front roller. You have to take the cover off and look to be sure.

My treadmill belt is jerking at speeds higher than 3. I have tightened the belt until its almost hard to tighten. I checked the drive belt and its okay. Why still jerking?

It may be counter-intuitive, but try reducing the tension. Although it is possible the belt is worn, it is more likely the belt is too tight and that is contributing to the slippage. It should be loose. The general "rule of thumb" I have seen in the literature is being able to comfortable slip 2 fingers under the belt on both sides.

I have a gold gym vx 5000, the motor does not keep a consistent speed and jerks a lot, is there any way to fix this?

Hi,
You have to check the treadmill belt. is it properly tightened or not. If the belt is loose the this type of problem can occur. check the video and tighten the belt and the check is it jerking of not .
Almost all the treadmill have the same belt tension procedure.

Proform xp 590s treadmill starts, then stops

Dear Sir:

You must adjust again the speed sensor see the diagram attached, tight very well the cables, and clean aroun very well with alcohol.

2) Try to run the software calibration.

3) The problem is lack of maintenance, Specially LUBE between deck vs walk deck belt, Do IT RIGHT NOW.

That produce ENOUGH friction, by wear deck and walk belt, and shut down the system for to protect the electronic system and component.

If the problem persist, you must have 1) Main motor faulty or 2) Main motor board faulty. See my personal TIPS for HELP.

sincerely. God bless you.

Hi,

It sounds as though you have a defective tensioner. That's the spring loaded attachment that constantly keeps the belt tight.

Take your vehicle to AutoZone for a FREE diagnostic scan since the jerking may be unrelated to the loose belt.

All the best,

Ben

My belt keep slipping. And I try tighten the ajustment bolts.

Make sure you adjust vthe motor belt first, it may be where the slipping is coming from. You should only be able to twist a properly tightened motor belt 45 degrees. After that, readjust the walk belt. If you have been tightening the walk belt trying to get the slipping out it may be too tight now. Use the instructions in your owners manual to adjust the walk belt. Also, lube under walk belt with the recommended lubrication . That will help the walk belt not too grab and take pressue off of both belts. Good luck

Belt problem: stops and jerks with stepping down on the belt

hi, try to tighten the belt, if this is happening then your belt is too loose. if you try to lift the belt off you should be able to lift it about 2 to 3 inches. anymore then the belt is too loose.if after this the problem is still there then the belt on the motor needs to be adjusted.

The belt is slipping with each step

At the end of of the running belts2_bing.gif in the end caps will adjusting bolts you will need a allen wrench to adjust the tension. Start your treadmill2_bing.gif and turn clockwise a 1/4 turn each time see i f you can stop the belt. You need to be aware that the drive belt can also cause this problem so I suggest that you remove the motor shroud and when you are adjusting whether the front roller is moving and the running belt has stopped or the roller has stopped and motor is rotating ( adjust Drive Belt)

I have a Proform 770 EKG Treadmill jerks and squeaks

The drive belt was loose. I tightened up the motor just a smidge using a crow bar. That solved the problem.
