Question about Dell Latitude D810 PC Notebook

1 Answer

My laptop dell d810 does not charge sometime it shows the battery 0% and ac power shows unknown device, i drained the battery and and it showed as if it had started to charge only then to stop a few second later, i tried to test the aac adapter with the meter it showed 19.6 volts but the amp it showed 1 amp instead of 3.4, anyway the laptop is working from ac but it fails to charge i have also tried another 65wats charger PA-12 but all the same but the battery is charged by a 90 watt since the battery is 80 watts, its not charging still, any idea what the problem can be

the warranty is over, but since the computer is working on ac almost perfectly, i really doubt if the motherboard is damaged because this i sthe same computer im typing from. i have 2 dell laptops which i swapped adapters and the same thing happened thats i think its becoz of the ac adapter not the motherboard i ll try a 90 watt ac adapter that is charging a latitud d810 - and if it fails then i will agree with you thanks for your suggestion but else i will continue to use the it on ac

Dell m5110 laptop won't charge new battery and ac adapter is not recognized in bios

Try another AC cord/charger with the EXACT same specs as original. Is the battery a genuine Dell battery, if not return it? Some aftermarket laptop batteries don't play well with your computer, the pin-out connections aren't correct and MAY be a fire hazard.

I have DELL LATITUDE D810 I am having an issue charging it`s battery, when the AC Power adapter is connected the notebook works fine, but the battery does not charge, as soon as I disconnect the power cord...

Yo! i think you should try something.get a friend that uses your type of adapter, try charge it with that and see if it responds.if it doesn't charge, you will have to replace your battery which means its spoilt.

Have a Dell D810. Battery at 75% charge. When I

Get a 90w adapter is the only resolution. The D810 on a 65w adapter will:
  1. Disable the battery charger
  2. Run slower due to throttling
The 65w adapter MAY charge the battery if the computer is not running (Not sure on that)

Dell laptop battery has 3 lights flashing when hit battery tester

You can't get the modern batteries to come back to life. Time to get a new one.
A suggestion: When using a laptop battery, run it on battery and discharge it until it shows about 2 to 3% charge left at least once a month. Do not keep charging it without letting it run down periodically. Most important--do not run always plugged in to line current.

CHECK IN YOUR BIOS AND MAKE SURE ANY SETTINGS FOR POWER ARE ALL CORRECT ...SO THAT WOULD BE A F2 FUNCTION IF THE ABOVE IS CORRECT ...SEE IF THAT SOLVES THE ISSUE .

Adapter is plugged in, but not charging for my Dell Inspiron 1526. Any thoughts?

turn on the machine and as soon as you turn on the machine keep on tapping f2 which takes you to BIOS screen, In the system option come to the Battery info and if it is showing battery and shows ac adapter as none it means adapter is faulty if it shows ac adapter type unknown then be prepared to purchase a new system board for your laptop

Battery not charging

this is usually an adapter, battery or mobo failure. Since the same adapter fails, that leaves the battery and motherboard. power on the system without the battery to confirm if the adapter still works. if AC works, try another battery and see if this works. If yes, the battery needs to be replaced. contact dell and check if a replacement is possible if your battery is still within warranty. I beleive dell only warrants battery of laptop for a year from the date your system was originally purchased.
