Question about Palm TX Handheld

1 Answer

Restting problem My TX resets itself after turn on. Only when I have a password enabled and I shut unit off on any screen other than my Browser, in which case the problem doesn't occur. I have TomTom Navigator 5 software installed along with the GPS Car Kit I have. When I turn unit on I get the password Key Pad for a second or two but it is unresponsive and then resets. then goies right to Navagator 5 opening screen. If I unable the password it is fine. I really like to protect my information with a password, but it is a real pain to have to make sure I am in my Internet Browser before shunting my unit off. I have tried a Hard Reset 2 times and reformated my SD card It did'n't help. I also like you to know I have a 4 Gig SD card 150x speed which works perfectly.

Sounds like a problem with third party software. Try removing your applications one by one until you discover the culprit. Or, back up everything (copy your backup folder to another spot on your computer as well), then hard reset the unit to bring it back to factory default. If it still happens, then it is likely a hardware problem. Otherwise, try re-installing apps one by one. Note, sometimes it can be the interaction of two apps that causes a mysterious problem like this.

Hi have a Onkyo TX-SR601 after using it for a while it shuts down.

The problem could be bad solder connections on the main, or the audio outputs are breaking down when they get hot.

Need user manual for a Lanex/Verint netDVR. Also need the procedure to reset the netDvr to its default status. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Let me guess - you aquired a netDVR with no hard drive and put one in and it doesn't work. The hard drives are encoded with some data that is specific to Lanex, so you have to buy the hard drive from them at a large markup. This is my only pet peave with Lanex as otherwise they are one of the best on the market. Do you have the application to talk to the netDVR? If you do then the default password is 'admin'. this should let you in to make changes to the configuration.

I bought a used Palm TX Handheld can't clear previous owners password.....Can it be reset to change the password?

Yes it can. Hold the power button down and use the stylus to push in the reset button on the back of the TX. Keep holding the power button down till you see the screen powering up. Then let the power button go, you should see a menu asking if you want to reset the unit. select yes (qui). then it will clear all the data and password off.
Then download the latest Palm Desktop Manager and the Hotsync from this site:

Palm TX handheld

First you need to reset the TX:
hold the reset button on the back of the unit, then turn the power on. Hold the power button while releasing the reset button. The TX will power up to the screen where it will ask you if you want to reset it to factory default.
Afterwards go to this link,,/?St=1568,E=0000000000263321976,K=3877,Sxi=4,case=obj(32859)

and download the Palm Desktop/Sync software and install it onto your PC. After installing the the Palm Destop software, connect the sync cable to the PC via the USB, then connect the cable to the TX and push the sync button.

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Palm TX handheld turns automatically on and off.

If you tried a hard reset, and it is still happening... then it may be a hardware problem. Is it still under warranty? You may want to exchange it for a new unit.
