All the exterior keys dont work. The camera, lock, volume, and all the answer and end call buttons do nothing. They all worked one day and than just completely shut off. Everything else works fine im just trying to find a way to fix my keys.

Here is your solution. I too had the exact same problem and I found your inquiry and the solutions above will not work period. I felt kind of stupid once I actually stumbled on the solution and it's quite simple. Open your camera, and I know it won't be responsive to your touch- what you have to do is press both volume button AND power button at the exact same time, I pressed volume down button, and the lock icon disappeared and I was able to finally access my camera to use. No complicated answer at all and I'm shocked there was virtually nothing online to suggest a solution. THIS is the solution- stupid simple right? If you press the volume button again with power button the lock will be activated again.
Typically, with android there will be an option to click forgot passcode and the ability to ender your gmail account and password to resolve the issue.
The next step is to hard reset the phone if the first option is N/A.
Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds. If the device is nonresponse remove / replace the battery.
Select Power off.
Press and hold the Volume Up / Down keys then press and hold the Power button (simultaneously).
Release all keys when the Android Notification Screen is displayed.
Press the End key.
Press the Volume down key to select wipe data / factory reset.
Press and hold the Camera key then press the Volume Down key to select Yes.
Release the Camera key.
Select reboot system now is selected.
Press the Camera key.
Note: If you hard reset the phone, it will be back to factory settings, meaning you will lose any applications installed and all information saved. Logging into your gmail again will return your contacts but beyond that everything will be erased.
Seems like a known issue with the W902. Same here, dropped my w902 a few months back and the Walkman button and Volume up keys not workin now.
Walkman button not really an issue as you still can navigate to it via the menu system but no volume UP key is annoying. You can't increase volume especially when you volume it down. Power the w902 down and up, will reset volume to 6/10.
Solution: I came across a site where you can change volume without the volume up key.
1. Ensure you lock the phone (* and Contact key)
2. While holdingdown the disconnect button (the one that you switch the phone off) and camera button (on the right side, bottom button), pressing 7 will decrease volume while * key will increase volume.
You need to hold both button for 7 and * to work. Works great for me as I dont have to replace my phone, hope this help.
This might sound strange but have a play with the volume and camera buttons (the buttons either side of the screen). One of the most common causes of non-working keys on the V3 is a jammed volume/camera button.
At the bottom of the Touch screen are three icons: Dial, Contacts, and Menu. Below these, on the phone case, are three keys: Talk/Send, Back, and Power/End. Below those is the microphone. On the left side of the phone are the Multitask and Volume keys. On the right side are The Lock key and the Camera key.
The volume key is stuck that's why the volume bar keeps on popping out. It is also the reason why the keypad is not working. You have to unstuck the volume key to check if the keypad really doesn't work.
Remove the battery cover and battery.
Remove the camera cover by prying the locks along its sides and lifting it up to expose the volume keys.
Insert a needle between the volume key membranes and the board to unstuck it. The membranes should click when pressed.
Install the camera cover in reverse order.
Inform me if the volume keys work fine but the keypad buttons don't.
On most mobile phones this is a setting hidden somewhere in the "Settings" or "Options" menu, but the easiest way to to fix it is with a simple phone call. While you are currently on a call with another person, you can turn the speaker volume up using the same button to turn up the ringer volume.
Note that this will only work if you try to turn up the volume while the phone on the other end is ringing or you are currently connected on a call.
I have the exact same problem. It started yesterday but I didn't even check the phone until someone said they called and I never received the call. Then this morning the phone was off so I power it on and it said the battery was almos dead. I charged it but couldn't look at a text msg that I had received. Now the only button that work is the power button. I bet it has something to do with Verizon network. I will contact them to see what they suggest unless someone fines a fix sooner. Thanks!
