Ignition Coil Test
You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins.

If the saw is new return it for a replacement. An authorized repair facility should at the very least repair it at no cost to you.

Hello sir please check the ignition cable connected to the sparking plug as you start the machine current should pass through the ignition cable and makes the machin to run.

Husky 254.wont start.fuel is filling up the carb.running out the exhaust, has spark, new fuel filter,it wont fire not even a splutter

i dont know ,usually when cylinder fills up with gas ,the float seat and needle needs to be changed. but this is a 2 cycle chain saw and not a 4 cycle lawnmower. and it is 2 cycle which means that the air/ fuel mixture goes into the crankcase first, before getting to the cylinder. So you are saying to me that your crankcase is full of 2cycle fuel, youe cylinder is full of 2 cycle fuel and the exhaust is full of 2cycle fuel.
TIME FOR a new carburator
or at the very least,a carb rebuild kit

If you want to do the job just once and be sure it will be fixed,
buy the new carburatior, but a new carb is at least $46.00 plus tax and 7.00 to 12.95 shipping. and that price is for a 33cc homelite ranger,14 inch saw, which I might just sell for parts because it is a solid body, not anti vibration handle.

so ,is your husky worth spending slightly under $100.00 on
if not ,try rebuilding the carb, may only cost 20.00 to 30 for parts but might not work & be a complete waste of $
Im not fimiliar with husky prices, I know they are big cc, heavy wieght and big price. Every thing I dont want in a saw
I can get a referbished homelite 16 inch 38 cc with anti-vibration handle for 78.00 & 7.00 ship with 90 day warranty.
or brand new for $110.00 if you run it at 30:1 oil ratio, it will last forever or until the carb craps out, which ever occurs first.

New spark plug plus new air and fuel filter. Chainsaw will not start or even fire.

If there is a good spark and fuel getting to the plug there are only two reasons why it will not fire, sheared flywheel key knocking the timing out, or it has partly seized and has low compression.

Often the cause is a failed fuel pump diaphram. Rebuild the carb... kits about $20. The diaphram works from engine vacuum pulses. Also the little flap type check valves go bad... the ethanol in gas doesn't help this problem...

How many hours on the unit?

Is it getting fuel?
Check the compression. If it has low compression it won't start.

I got a new poulan 33cc chainsaw from canadian tire, sold for parts only as it was not working. But it is still new. There is plenty of compression, and I checked the ON_OFF switch (took it appart),...

quite possible. check the spark plug holder to make sure the coil is in there that connects the wire to the plug..if it is there, disconnect the kill switch and make sure none of the wires going to it are grounding on the case, it just grounds out the coil to shut it off , when disconnected you will have spark if the coil is good.....shut it off with the choke if ya start it

Just got a homelite 33cc 14 inch chain saw, do you mix gas and oil on this chain saw?

Yes you do! The ratio is 50:1 fuel to oil. Be sure to use a modern synthetic saw oil available at home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Be sure to use fresh fuel and mix the two in it's own container. Be sure to shake the container thoroughly each time just before refueling to prevent oil starvation in the engine. Don't make up more than one gallon at a time unless sawing is your business. Hope this helps!

What is the mix for my Homelite 16" 33cc chainsaw?

50:1 is the fuel to oil ratio. Never use petroleum oil (engine or boat motor oil). Always use a synthetic saw oil available from home centers, hardware stores and saw dealers. The bottles are usually graduated to various ratios for a gallon of fresh gas. Always premix in it's own container and shake the container thoroughly each time just before filling the tank to prevent oil starvation. Be sure to use bar/chain oil for the chain as well, and keep the chain sharp and well adjusted. Hope this helps!

What is the oil to gas ratio for a homelite zr 10926 16 chain saw

This is a current Homelite product although not your saw. This clearly recommends 50:1 as do I. I find no OM for your saw, a "Ranger 33cc 16" Chain Saw UT-10926"
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1 and have for a number of years.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.

I suggest you contact Homelite and request an OM for your saw.

Try this it is most likely shorted wiring between the ignition and start switch.

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode. HTH
