It could be the electrodes or the burner itself. get a technician to check it.

I have a kenmore stove model number 790,72403012 and 3 of the 4 burners are working. They all are getting a spark, but the front left won't fire up.

First, try to light the burner in question with a match. Just hold a match to the burner, then turn the gas on to low. If the burner doesn`t light, the problem is the gas supply to the burner. Next, lift the top cover and put the prop rod in the hole in the cover to support it. Hold a match to the left-front burner. Now, turn the control knob to "light". You should see the igniter spark and hear a snap. If this doesn`t happen, repeat this step with the left rear burner. If you hear the spark and snap.
If the igniter doesn`t work on the front left burner, but does on the rear left burner, the igniter does work. The problem is likely the control knob for the left front burner. The. Control knob includes the electrical switch the activates the igniter when you turn on that burner.

Spark igniter problem

The igniters probably should be replaced. You can order new ones for about 15 - 20 dollars each. They are easy to replace and sears parts direct will show you a printable schematic.

Front right burner on ge jgs968 slide-in gas range wont light

First you need to find out if you have actual gas reaching the element. Can you light is with a match. If you can't light it you have a clogged gas line and will need to find out if it is the tip or the line. If it does light with a match, then you will need a new lighting element.

I smell gas and my burners wont light - is there a pilot light in these ranges?

The best way to find out if if your stove has a pilot light, is to lift the top panel of the range . The pilot will usually be located between the burners. Typically you will have two pilots. One for the left and one for the right. The pilot light will ignite with a match without having to turn the burner knobs to the "on" position. Good luck

Front right burner knob will not activate the sparking. No clicking or spark. The other three knobs all activate the spark. I have been turning the gas on to the front right burner and then activating...

You are correct, on most Kitchen Aid units the switches come as an assembly of all 4 with the wiring, I would have to have your exact model number to be sure but most often you cannot replace just the one switch.

If the front left also does not light normally, my best guess would be that the wires for the front left and right rear are crossed and the insulation may have fried. Besides that possibility, I have no clue.

Burners won't light

Hi there,

Sounds like an igniter problem. Sometimes the tips of the igniters burn and don't give out the spark to light the burners. Check for a spark from the igniter on the front burners. Also sometimes the igniters drop down a little - may just need re-positioning. Compare the front igniters with the back to see how they should spark. You may need to replace the front igniters. Hope this helps.

There are several screws under the front lip of top of the range. You will have to open the oven door to see them. Once the screws are removed, the top should just lift up. Of course, if it has been a couple of years, grease and oil can creep into the seams along the sides and cause the top to stick. If this is the case, carefully take a putty knife along the side seams and lift up at the same time on the front. The top should open. Now, if ALL your burners are not lighting, that sounds like a bad spark module. Do you hear a clicking noise when you try to light any of the top burners? If not, the spark module not the igniters, is the likely suspect. The spark module provides a voltage to ALL the igniters simultaneously. Removing the top will not be necessary if this is the case. The spark module is usually located in the back of the oven cavity under bottom pan of the oven. Or, it may be located behind the panel in the rear of the stove. Let me know if this helps you.
