Question about Panasonic Matshita- | UJ-845-B | USB 2.0 | DVD-+RWRAMDL (GPUJ845BU) Burner

Open Question

Acer Aspire 6920G laptop with Matshita DVD drive UJ870QJ. Arcsoft Total Media 3.5 failing to recognise this drive - 'No valid recordable device detected'. Drive works with other burning programs on my laptop. Arcsoft not helpful ('we don't guarantee our software will work with every drive on the market' - which is the worst reply I've ever had from a helpline). I feel that this is probably a simple thing like an out of date driver but Windows tells me the driver is OK. Any suggestions, please? Regards, monk1214

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: My Vaio is not reading blank DVD's.

This is a common problem on Vaios, and typically comes from one of two causes.

Try the following two steps (in order)

Step 1 Delete Filter Drivers
======================
1. Click Start, type regedit and press ENTER.

2. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

3. Right click the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} entry, choose "Export", select Desktop in the Save in box and type backup in File Name. Click Save.

Please Note: The backup file is on the Desktop and named backup.reg. We can simply restore the registry by double-clicking the backup.reg file.

4. Highlight this key ({4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}), on the right pane, and then check if Upperfilters and Lowerfilters value are present. If so, please right click on the values and select "Delete" to remove them.

5. Restart the computer

If this works, then there's no need to do step 2 below

Step 2: Reinstall the DVDRAM
======================
1. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
2. Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives.
3. Right-click the DVDRAM and click Uninstall.
4. Restart the computer.

Matshita dvd-ram uj870qj driver

this should be the generic driver http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/AHCI/AHCI_NVIDIA_10.3.0.23_XPx86.zip?acerid=633639735363942656&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%204530&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_7 from acer. im not sure what laptop you have tho but this laptop features that exact dvd player.

i would try first under xp right click my comp go to prop. device manager. then you should see your driver and either roll back the driver or update it. under win 7 n vista go to my computer then sys prop. then device manager and do the same let me know if this works.

How can i reset my cd/dvd region in my acer aspire 4715z series, i plan to do this my cd/dvd rom is choosing a disc to play, i think some change the cd/dvd rom without my knowledge and I'm not able to fix...

To change the region code on your DVD player go to Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager and expand the DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on your DVD drive and click on Properties then click on DVD Region tab. You will see the number of changes remaining (you can only change the region code 4 times and then it locks on the last region change and no further change is available). You will see the Current Region and You can change the region in the New Region box.
If you have run out of changes then you have a problem, this can be fixed. The hardest way is to upgrade the firmware on the DVD drive to a region free firmware BUT if you install the wrong firmware or stuff up the upgrade your DVD drive will be a piece of junk.
The best way is to install a piece of software that defeats the region code. There may be some free software on the Internet but I use DVD Region Free + CSS Free from DVD Idle, it not expensive and I have no problem viewing DVDs from any region.
Use this link to DVD Idle WEB site.

try this link it could help you out.
i cannot remeber the precise location in the registry, but it has to do with the upper or lower filters.
