You should use the 25 characters product key. The product key shown on your computer is not your MS Office 2007 product key. The product key for Microsoft Office 2007 shown on the cd case or from the cover itself. If you can't find any product key on the case you may contact the Manufacturer or from the store where you bought it.

    From Microsoft's knowledge base:

    How to identify the product key

    loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation');

    Microsoft product keys contain 25 characters that are typically divided into groups of 5.
    Where to locate the product key

    loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation');
    The
    product key is typically located on an orange or yellow sticker on the
    back of the CD case or the DVD case. If the Windows operating system
    that you are using was preinstalled by your computer manufacturer, you
    may find the Windows product key sticker on the computer.

    Make
    sure that you store the product key together with the product CD or DVD
    in a safe location in case you have to reinstall the product in the
    future. The product cannot be reinstalled without both the product key
    and the CD or DVD.

    Product keys are specific to their software
    products. For example, you cannot use a Windows product key to unlock a
    Microsoft Office product.
    How to obtain a replacement product key

    loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation');
    To
    replace a Microsoft product key, you must contact Microsoft Customer
    Service and Support. To locate the appropriate telephone number, visit
    the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp...
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp...
    Note
    When you contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support for a
    replacement product key, you may have to pay a fee. You may also have
    to provide information from your computer or from the product CD or DVD
    when you are speaking to the customer service

Hello the niangtonsing.

I've read your question a few times, and I infer something a little different each time ... but that's maybe my bad. However, here's a GEEK-steer I hope will provide the necessary joy ...

There are three potential sources/solutions for your key code:

  1. You should be able to locate the product key code (5x5, 25 digits long) on your MS Office 2007 installation disk/sleeve.
  2. If you've lost your disk/sleeve, you can contact Microsoft support services [800-MICROSOFT (642-7676)] for a no-charge resolution.
  3. HOWEVER, if the software is currently installed, there are many software applets that can present the key code to you, but I'll recommend "Belarc Advisor". Download/install and/or on-line run it, then after it process, it will display its report in your default web-browser. You'll then find your key code in the "Software Licenses" section.
NOTE: If the software was installed and registered on a computer other than the one your "girls" have it installed now and are trying to use, then you of course have a problem, as the EULA license typically only authorizes use on one computer (at a time).

Good luck, and thanks in advance for posting back ...
