Find the setting for "conversion lens" in the menu, or tools menu. Turn it off.
Turning the "conversion lens" on blocks all flash function.
The conversion lens is a extra lens that you can purchase to screw onto the front of the main camera lens for extra zoom or wide shots but it blocks the flash, so your only meant to turn it on when you have one fitted.

I dropped my camera once and it wasn't that big of a fall. I am not exactly sure if the monitor stopped working because of this or after a while...But now when i turn on my camera everything seems to be functioning except the monitor is black and if I take a picture, it is only black. I can still see the other pictures I took before and all the other functions seem to be functioning.

Both the LCD screen and the viewfinder have the same problem: a blue cast (especially under low light) and greatly reduced contrast and color saturation. It is as if the image in the viewfinder were two or three stops overexposed. The recorded pictures are normal, only the view through the viewfinder(s) is bad. The problem appeared suddenly, between one picture and the next.
