Question about Jabra BT500V Wireless Headset

BT500V won't charge

This is the second BT500V that will not charge no matter how long you leave it on the wire. First set was replaced by vendor for this problem, this one just bit the dust as well. I am very careful with the headset and plug correctly. When really charging I get a solid red light on set. With this problem, red light is flashing and refuses to charge?

Have others experienced this problem? Are the sets defective?

    This sounds exacctly like me - i have the exact same experience: i'm on my second BT500v (dealer replacement), and just like on the first one the red light still only sort of flickers - and threre is no charge...?!?

    Sounds like the same problem as mine....Plug the headset in and the light just pulse. No charge getting through and no way to turn the set on. This is my second one from the vendor and exactly the same problem.
    Tried unplugging it, pressing sequences of buttons.. I EVEN read the manual!

    Same issue. When I plug in the headset to charge, the green light goes on for a half second, then the red light for a half second, then it goes dead. And it doesn't charge no matter how long it's on.

    Yes! I just bought a Jabra BT500 from CompUSA store which is going out of business in Albuquerque,NM. I tried to exchange it but ended up in a verbal confrontation with store manager. ALL SALES FINAL. Mind is doing the same thing as the others described. Any help out there? Anybody?

    Same problem here. The first one was replaced under warranty. The second is about 10 months old and I've used it about 2 times and it's dead.

    Just bought A BT500v havn't even used it yet, had it on charge for over 18 hours red light fashes but cannot turn it on .Tried it with the PC charger same deal wont charge. I have a BT 500 have have never had a problem with it not charging anyone got a solution for this?

    The first one that I purchased was exchanged by the vender because it would not charge. The replacment was working fine so I ordered one for my wife & daughter. Well the same thing happened again after only using them for about 3 months. So now out of four I have one working and two are defective, I would think that a company as large as Jabra would be able to solve this problem, by replacing the defective units???????

    Same problem here, no light, will not turn on, I bought it brand new on Ebay 2 months ago. Anyone knows the address of Jabra or how valid is their one year guarantee?

    Bought mine through Verizon, sat in my desk for about a year. The new law here in CA forced me to break out the Jabra. Used in once or twice, then it wouldn't take a charge, thought it was the usb charger, borrowed a friends AC charger, still doesn't work. I've always wanted to take a hammer to a bluetooth ear piece, guess tomorrow's the day..

    yep i have the same issue here, i think it has been sitting in the box in the store room for a while and when we gave it to a user it wont charge.

    Same problem here, the red light just blinks dim>bright and never charges.
    I have 2 of these, one works, one does not, both bought new at the same time. I wonder how one would replace the battery.

    Same problem but Solution #2 (BT Pair button and power button held down for a bit) solved it and allowed chrging to procede.

This happens because the battery gets too low to take a charge.
To jump start the headset, connect the power lead and the LED will be flashing red. now press and hold the power and BT pairing buttons. The LED should change to solid red.
I found that holding both buttons for about 3-5 minutes allowed the battery to get enough charge to start charging and you can release the buttons and the headset will continue to charge.
If the led starts flashing again, just repeat the process again.

Check the date on the side of the box if it is one just purchaced. I had the same problem both new. the date on my box said 20/07 indicting it is 1 year old and sat on the shelf for that time.
Like any battery it will die .

If you just bought it and have the sale docket contact the Jabra Support number in your country they may repalcer it with a 2008 model.

Archos 70 won't turn on

I have the 8gig Archos 70, the whole thing froze as described in other posts. The solution is not for the feint of heart though. Mine would do absolutely nothing. So what the heck, I opened it up (nothing to lose at this point). Messed about a bit. Read that when it "Bricks" like this there is nothing that can be done. If it is Bricked, something locks it in the memory and function. As long as the battery is connected, it will remain that way no matter what.

Solution. Cut the black power wire from the battery (there are three long wires red white and black), leave for 20 minute, and solder the wire back together and heat shrink the joint. Reassemble, plug in power cord and it should reboot...

My archos is about 3-4 years old, and is mounted to the wall in my kitchen for use as an internet radio

My asus notebook won't charge i just bought last five days ago, and now it won't charge.. i tried to remove the battery and attach the adapter, but it still doesn't open..

if it wont charge it most likely has a bad battery...if you just bought it, I would suggest returning it for a replacement. Make the vendor or manufacturer make good on their product.

My message indicator light does not blink when I have a voicemail on my Mitel SuperSet 4025. What do I do to make it blink when I have a mesage?

This is a feature code set by the voicemail system. If the code isn't set properly in the voicemail server, then the lamp won't light. Here's a few troubleshooting steps for you to follow...

Are others having the trouble? If so, then it's a system wide problem and you should contact your vendor to have it looked at.
If it is isolated to your phone... swap phones with another user with a 4025.... leave a message in your mailbox... did it light the lamp? If so, leave a message for the other user and see if it lights the lamp on your phone at their desk... did it light the lamp? If NOT, then you've got a bad phone and you should contact your vendor to have the set replaced/repaired.

Paring the JABRA head set to Mobile phone

1. Turn headset off. Press and hold until solid light comes on.
2. Activate Bluetooth on your phone.
3. Search for Bluetooth devices and select Jabra BT500V.
4. Press ‘OK’ on the phone ,If the phone asks for a PIN then confirm with PIN code 0000 (4 zeros)

My Samsung A777 will not charge no matter what i do and this is the second charger i have had to buy for my phone

You should return it to the vendor and let them have a look on it, unless you have the knowledge to repair it yourself. You could try with a replacement battery, or try recharging on your USB connection or something like that.

Go to this site, and it will walk you through each step to connect your particular Jabra headset with your cellphone. Choose the headset, and then at the next page, choose your phone. Unit will not charge. Red light just flashes

I had a similar problem with two new units.
Pressing the pairingbutton and de on/off button at the same time, while the unit was on the charger, solved the problem for one of the two.
The other still wouldn't charge.
On this one I had to do the same, but for a longer period (2 minutes at least). This solved the problem on this one too.

I have a brand new one with the same problem I contacted Jabra Support in AU on 1800 636 086 They advise that it is dead batery if yeaft for a very long time with out charge the batery will die and will not charge.

If its under waranty they will advise to send it back to them and repalces it with a new 2008 model.

Another isssue is look at the date, on the side of the box. My brand new one said 20/07 indicating it had been on the shelf 1 year before it was shipped.
