Once you have properly installed the camera drivers, DO NOT Unplug the USB Port as it will cause the drivers to be corrupt and the camera will not work.
Follow the instructions below and it will work.
Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program.
When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Then to use it on the Web, do this. Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”. 3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.” 4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions. NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.

Apart from obvious things like it not being plugged in, it could be that the chatsite you;re using hasnpt been set up for the cam.
Try going into audio / video settings for the site in question and selecting the cam from the drop down. It will recognise any cams you have installed on your PC.
If it doesn't find your cam, uninstall the cam drivers, restart your PC, reinstall the cam drivers ( if you're using Windows the plug and play should work, if not use the disc that came with the cam ) and then restart the PC.
Once restarted, access the site you want to use the cam on, and then select it from teh audio / video set up panel.
1) Plug in the USB connector of the webcam into your PC's USB socket
2) Connect the MIC by pluging in the MIC connector to the RED audiio in socket provided at the back of your PC.
3) Install the webcam driver from the CD provided to you with the web cam
4) A new software must have been installed Click on the software's icon to start the web cam
Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page. Note - Older models on page 2 - look for the link at the bottom right of page 1 and click on it "Still can't find your product?"
In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to check the support software - Microsoft DirectX . This comes pre-loaded on most Windows computers but has to be updated - I am currently on version 11 To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click 'Start', click 'Run', type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK Run through the tabs checking the 'notes' windows for information The version will be shown on the 'Systems' tab
Procedure to re-install Logitech software Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software Disconnect your webcam Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer Restart computer Download the Installation package from Logitech Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must. Connect your webcam when prompted.
Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.
http://www.testmycam.com/ Not working ? - troubleshoot your drivers and software - get your cam working before moving on
Working OK ?
Set your webcam mic as default ( if it has a built in mic)
Plug in the webcam
TEST SPEAKERS Right click on speaker icon in System Tray or from Control Panel Select "Playback Devices" The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible Right click on the volume graph and click "Test" Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard
SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC Click "Recording" tab. Right click on the volume graph and select 'Show disabled devices' and 'Show disconnected devices' To set required (webcam) mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click 'OK' Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later) Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays
Hi, first of all you need to make sure you have the microphone configured properly. If using the cams built in mic you need to make sure it works . If using XP Open the control panel and click the sounds and audio deviecs, click the voice tab, there you can select which Mic to use: the USB cam mic or another mic , then click test hardware. If you should see a mic playback test. if the level is there then the mic is working. next see if there is a mic level test/adjustment within the camera software, if using skype you also need to set it up and turn up the Mic level there too. you may need to add a mic, some USB cam built in mic aren't that good. you can buy a cheap mic and plug it into the pink jack.
hope this helps, please leave a 5 thumbs up if this helped
make sure the mic jack is not in the speaker jack please try swap it. if it does not work, plug the mic and go to control panel select sound devices there u can set ur mic, if not reinstall ur sound driver, thanks, dont forget to vote me if it works
You will probably need to reconfigure whatever software you are using for the video call to pull audio from the Onboard Mic from the Cam. If it is not configured to pull the audio from that Mic on the Cam, it may be looking for audio somewhere else. This is sadly an issue with a lot of Video Chat software applications.
Did you install the software with the camera connected to
the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the
software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it
should work. Hope this is of some help.Bud
