Question about Garmin nuvi 250W GPS Receiver
The car plug use to work for about a year, its the only plug ive used on the Nuvi, but now when I plug the Garmin into the car it acts like ive plugged it into a computer and just charges.
This is the problem with the Nuvi 2xx series... the charging port connector on the rear is weak and eventually the connections fail. It does not have a quick disconnect port like the Nuvi 3xx, 6xx or 7xx series.
The connector has to be either resoldered or replaced. The bad connections are whats causing the problem, making your Nuvi think its connected to a PC rather than a true charging power source.
