1 Answer

Sound driver I cannot get the sound to work on my computer. I have 2 computers the same. When I look at system, there is a question mark where the sound driver should be. I did all the Microsoft solutions stuff, but there is no driver intalled. I check my other computer that is the same, and there is the realtek driver installed. I download and installed it on the other computer but it still says no driver intalled. The only sound coming out was an error sound system there is no device driver installed. I have been 2 weeks on this, I would really, really appreciate any help

Are you sure that your two computer are the same specification? if yes then you can copy all the driver from you computer. Do you have Cd utilities enclosed /included in your computer? if yes the insert it in CD/DVD rom and install all necessary driver.(Audio). Is your Audio is built in to your Mboard? if yes then take a look on your board then find the model number of the motherboard. and then search it google like these: Model Number - Download driver or go directly to manufacturer's website in their download driver ans support. ( same you did in add-on audio card).

Sound driver issue

Instructions
    • 1 Check your speakers and make sure they are connected to the right inputs on your computer before proceeding to check the sound drivers.
    • 2 Click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel." Double-click "System" and click the "Hardware" tab. Click the "Device Manager." For Windows Vista users, click "Hardware and Sound" and click "Device" manager. The Device Manager allows you to verify the status of drivers and hardware running on your computer.
    • 3 Scroll down the Device Manager until you locate "Sound, video and game controller." Click the "+" button next to it to expand it. You should see a list of sound drivers on your computer. If you see a question or exclamation mark on any of the drivers, it means it is either corrupt or missing.
    • 4 Right-click the sound driver that has a question or exclamation mark and click "Properties." You should see a title stating that the device is not working properly if it is damaged. Click the "Driver" tab and click "Update." Follow the wizard to install the audio drivers. Move to the next step if this does not solve the audio problem.
    • 5 Write down your computer model number. The location of the number varies with different computer models, but can generally be found on the back off your system.
    • 6 Go to your computer manufacturer's website and look for the drivers and downloads page. Use your computer model number to locate the sound drivers.
    • 7 Download the sound drivers when you have found the right ones (they are different with different computer models) and install them on your computer. Go back to the Device Manager and verify that the question and exclamation marks are no longer there.
    • 8 Restart your computer. Verify that the sound is now available by launching a media program (e.g. Windows Media Player) and playing back an audio file.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)

Speakers connected properly but still no sound it says there was no sound device detected

HI,
1. First check your speakers with CD/DVD player, either sound is working or not.
2. Check your system whether the driver is installed or not.
3. Goto Mycomputer rightclick, then properties, then hardware, then device manager
4. then sound video game controller, check here your sound card is installed or not
5. if you find any yellow mark on the sound card, right click on that diable it,
6. select Action from the menu bat at the top and scan for new hardware changes.
7. Select system devices below the sound video game controller, double click on that and find is
there any yellow mark symbol display on any controller, if not, then everything is installed properly
8. And now you can restart your computer.

Speakers not working

hi,
ok so your speakers are alright, but you dont hear any sound when connected to the computer.
1.this might be due to a driver problem. install the correct driver for your sound system and it will start working. to check if the driver are ok, right click on my computer icon on the desktop and select properties. now go to the hardware tab an and click device manager. a yellow mark will in the sound system category will tell of a device driver or conflict problem.
2. if there is no problem as mentioned above... you can try this go to control panel. click the sound icon and check i the device is muted and volume sliders are adjusted.

hope it helps.
regards.
