There is only 1 way that this can happen and that is if you have removed the worm gears and oput them back in the wrong places which will make the feed rollers run in reverse and / or the cutting blade turn in reverse. The only other way is if somehow you managed to get the gearbox in backwards or inserted the motor in the wrong way around. Also check the motor wiring is the correct polarity.

Assuming that this unit worked before you replaced the motor casing there is nothing else that can cause this. Why did you replace the motor case?

You have reversed the polarity of the voltage to the motor. When you changed the case around, you must have changed the wires going into the motor? Reverse them back and motor will change directions for you.

You didn't switch the right wires then. A DC motor changes direction when you change the polarity to the armature, or the field.

check the motor for a thermal over load button
to stop it over heating take more lighter cuts as the motor is a small motor compared to what the cut can be

Ryobi hedge trimmer found a sharp noise coming from driven motor. It started during a trimming job. Sounds like a sand between two reciprocating blades, but I am more afraid of a motor issue.

Either get the necessary tools or consider repair/replacement.

See if you can remove the blade and run motor to see if noise still continues.

The saw wants to start backwards.

this confuses me. What do you mean it starts backwards? How do you know it is running backwards? how long have you had this tool? I am confused because it is a table saw. The motor should drive the blade in the direction the teeth are facing. Meaning the poity part of the blade is where the wood is to star its cut. If this is not the case, you either have the blade in backwards, or your standing on the wrong side of the saw. good luck.

I think you did diagnose the problem. A DC motor will run backwards if the wires are switched around and polarity is reversed. Try switching the wires

Changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.
