If you have 2 RF jacks on it, make sure your using the cable input and not the digital air input. Then program in cable mode. If still nothing then I would have it looked at by a service center.

TV keeps going in and out

Check the connections to the cable box, that they are nice a shiny and clean, and tight. Use HDMI connectors if you can.

Shut the box off overnight. Pull the plug on the television overnight as well.

Connect all back up. If it still does it, you need to disconnect that television and use another to see if the television is faulty, or the cable box / signal is faulty. Then you will know if you need to get the television fixed (Hisense as cheap budget sets) or the cable box, or cabling fixed.

Wont connect to verizon dvr box, its connected to the video out cable and the fios tv cable.

Make sure that the dvr is not outputting a HD signal to your set - if it is, your set will not work unless you change the signal to 480 from the HD setting.

How can I get high definition on the tv? I have it set to receive the signal from my cable tv company but it transmits only a regular signal.

Check these things to solve this problem:

Do you have an High Definition TV? If you bough it recently, then you probably do. If you are unsure, look on the back of the TV for the model numbe and search on Google to read find information about he model of TV you have. If you don't have an HD TV, you will need to upgrade if you want High Definition.

Is the TV connected to the cable box with an HDMI or Composite cable?
You can order a cheap HDMI cable at Monoprice.com.
If you are using old style AV cables (red, yellow, white) then you will not get an HD signal from the cable box.

Check the TV settings to make sure it is set to display in HD. Look in the manual for help here. It is probably in the Input Settings.

You will need to call your cable company and make sure you are getting HD service. If you are not the you will only get Standard Definition. You may have to pay more or upgrade your cable box.

The Direct TV installer is on the way. What do I need to do to get this TV to receive HD? It says that it is HD Ready. Not sure what that means.

You dont have to do anything When your TV says it's HD ready it just simply means that it is waiting for your installer to run the HD signal to it through a cable. Then your TV is going to turn that signal into HD picture and audio. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy HD programing

HD TV not passing the tests offered on network tv

Which network? Cable? Satellite? Dish or Direct?
With any of these providers, you should get an ATSC or "digital" signal. If not, the problem would most likely be with the service provider since they are converting the signal for you. The only way that your set would be affected is if you have an "off air" (antenna) signal only. At this point you would need a converter box. If your service provider is providing you with a HD receiver, then you should have no problem recieving HD (as long as your paying for HD). However, keep in mind, digital is NOT HD. If there is an incompatability with your receiver, check with your service provider for a software or hardware upgrade. Also, check with your local TV serviceman to find out if there are any software upgrades (firmware) for your TV. Being three or so years old, it is possible.
One last thing to check is to see what type of signal you are passing from your providers box to your TV (which type of cable". At a minimum, you need a "component" connection to pass HD content. A "composite" signal is standard definition. Best you can get right now is an HDMI cable. Best "one cable" source for video and audio.
Good Luck.

Get HD Signals but it Says Channels not available

you might have to look for "hidden" hd channels.

most cable companies are broadcasting the local stations unencrypted, so you should be able to receive them and sometimes a few other "basic" hd channels like discovery or tnt.

try googling your cable system, city and hd channels to see if someone has posted a list of channels (eg, 88-1 or 102-1)
