    Thank you for your response!

    1)The printer is turned on.

    2) I do have two cables- the parallel cable and the connecting bidirectional USB cable. Have also tried swapping out both cables; that didn't work either.

3)I have tried using both the driver from the website and the "add new hardware" setting".

    4) I left it disconnected until the driver was installed.

Is it switched on?

Do you have two cables going to it and is each plugged i n at each end?

Have you tried using your "Add New Hardware" setting?

When you installed your printer, did you install it BEFORE plugging it in? Try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling it again (with the printer unplugged) and then follow the directions.

If you have not yet solved this issue , advise if you are on a paralell cable or usb cable connection? If it is a paralell connection pull the cable out and check for a bent pin, if affirmative straighten it out with small thin head pliers. If usb check that the correct driver has been loaded on the virtual usb port. Good Luck Ed Pinero

Will a sharp al 1451 copier printer using paralel cable and old windows operating sysytem be able to upgrade to new computor with windows 7 and using a usb to paralel cable ?

I would say it should. But go to the sharp.com site and type in the printer name in the search box and follow the site to the print drivers. I service a gazillion of those in a hospital and they adapt well to new OS and applications.

The media is in correctly and is being fed correctly but when we sent a label from our computer to the zebra printer it will not print the information on the media. Was fine a few days ago.

send a test print from the driver.
check the connection configuration.
if connect with serial port (check seting from the port (THE SPEED HAVE TO BE THE SAME)
if connect with USB, if necessery, install the driver again and test.
if necessery flash the firmware and test (worst case scenario)
if can't comunicate and if using paralel port:
check if the fuse next to the paralel port is burn ( on the logic board.). replace it.
dont forget to unplug the power cable and the comunication cable.

I have a hp940c printer that worked great in Vista premium, but using windows7 platform recognizes it but I can't print from it. I don't think there exists drivers for windows7 yet, but is there anything I...

I just looked on my windows 7 box and I see that windows has 2 built in driver versions listed for that printer. Try removing the HP software for it (if its installed) and remove the printer from "printers and devices". If the printer is hooked up with USB, unplug the USB connection from the computer and plug it back in. If its hooked up with a parallel cable, use the add a printer wizard from within the devices and printers window. I had an hp printer issue after I upgraded from vista to 7. removing the printer and having windows reinstall it fixed it for me.

Dell 720 printer

Delete the printer icon and disconnect the USB cable. Restart the laptop, reconnect the USB cable to see if your laptop recognizes the printer. If so, install the printer driver. If not, probably USB cable or port issue. Hope this helps.

I'M USING MY BJC 80 ON A PACKARD BELL M35-U-57, VISTA HOME BASIC. CONNECTED THE PRINTER WITH A GENERIC USB-PARALELL CABLE, NO DRIVER. FIRST HAD THOSE 5 TO 7 MINUTES DELAYS FOR PRINTING. WENT TO THE PRINTERS "PROPERTIES", "ADVANCED OPTIONS" AND TICKED "PRINT DIRECTLY", IN THE "PORTS" SECTION I DISABLED "BIDERECTIONAL PORT". IT'S WORKING SWEET. NO MATTER THE QUALITY.
