Question about Lexmark C510 Laser Printer
This error is likely the Photodeveloper Cartridge. You can try taking it out of the printer turning the white gear on the bottom right untill you see the black markers once you see the black markers then try to wipe them off with a lint free cloth. Reinstall the Photodeveloper and see if the error goes away. If it does then it will need to be replaced.

Is this error on a C510?, because the manual lists 994 as OPC belt marker sensor error.
Normally with an engine service error i reflash the engine firmware first, if that doesn't cure the fault i would then replace the engine board. If you need the firmware, visit the Lexmark site get the contact phone number for your region and ring them. They're normally quite helpful and of coarse can tell you how to reflash it.
