Toner cartridge not installed message

I have all for toner cartridges installed, however Xerox's Status Monitor claims that the cyano, magenta and yellow ones are not installed (it says nothing of the black). I have no idea what to do. Already tried reinstalling the cartridges about 10 times - nothing seems to work.

You're welcome. I will mark this as a solution.
You could try cleaning all the electrical contacts on your magenta cartridge. An Isopropyl wipe would work well.
It is also possible that the cartridge may have warranty for the life of the toner, worth investigating as they are expensive.

I have had to repair a few of these. Take off the sides and back of the 6360. You'll see the hoses that feed into the laser. The black one becomes unplugged from the laser. All you have to do is plug it back in. The next step can be kinda messy. Take out the black toner cartridge, and spin the motor backwards. You'll know you're going the right way because it won't turn the other way. Cycle the gear where the toner sits for about 2 revolutions. Reassemble and you should be good to go!

This thing took me 6 days to figure out the first time. Haha!

Error code 9-355 indicates, the magenta toner dispenser is broken and in need of repair.



Open the Front Door

From left to right, the Toner Cartridge colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.


As a pre-caution, place a few sheets of paper on the floor, under the Toner Cartridge area, to catch any toner that may spill.



Remove the Toner Cartridge by rotating the handle to the left until the handle is in the unlocked position.



Pull the cartridge completely out of the machine.

Check for any obvious damage in the cartridge or printer and reinstall. Replace cartridge if damaged.

If error message continues, call a qualified repairman.

Toner light is on on Brother HL-2170 Laser Printer and the computer is not recognizing a print task. Can you help me fix this problem? Also, I just replaced toner a couple weeks ago.

1. Verify you installed a NEW, out of the box, genuine Brother toner cartridge (TN360/TN330).

If a toner cartridge from another machine was installed (even if there?s still toner left in the used cartridge) or a starter toner cartridge (included with the purchase of a machine) was installed, the Toner LED will stay on and the message "Toner Life End" would continue to appear on the display.

2. Verify the toner cartridge is installed correctly by following the steps listed below:

a. Open the front cover by pulling the tabs on the left and right side of the printer towards you.

b. Lift the drum unit slightly and pull it out. Place the drum unit on a piece of disposable paper or cloth to avoid spilling and scattering the toner.

c. Remove the toner cartridge from the drum by holding down the lock lever (blue tab) on the left side of the drum unit and lift the toner out. Handle the toner cartridge carefully. If toner scatters on your hands or clothes, immediately wash it off with cold water.

d. Gently rock the toner cartridge from side to side five or six times to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.

e. Place the toner cartridge into the drum (be sure it clicks into place).

f. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the blue tab on the top of the cartridge from right to left several times. Return the blue tab to the home position before reinstalling the drum unit assembly.

g. Reseat the drum unit into the printer pressing it in securely.

h. Close the front cover making sure it latches on both sides.

If the Toner LED is still on or the status monitor continues to display the message "Toner Life End" the printer will need service.

The printer has a one year limited exchange warranty. If the printer is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.

Error 9-355 on dc12 xerox


That is a magenta toner empty message, either the magenta cartridge is empty or there is an issue with the magenta toner dispensing.

Magenta (yellow) unit is PAST end of life... (I have changed cartridges I still have this message. I tried to read instruction, and I got following message: Install P/N 108R00649 following the instalation)

Toner Cartridge OK, Low, Empty When 15,000

Imaging Units At/Near end-of-life When 30,000 pages are
printed out or when the
pixel counts are
exceeded.
A fuse in the new

Xerox phaser 6120 "magenta toner missing"


This problem may happen randomly with any toner.
Open the printer, the "missing toner" should be the one you see.
No need to uninstall it.
On the right side of the toner, above and to the right of the label, you will see a small green board with three contacts on it.
Just clean these contacts with a moderate cleaning solution (nail polish remover will do).

Keep Getting Error Message "(Colour) Toner Not Installed"


I think in the menu you have to select replace cartride.. then new or same with new toner...

each toner cartridge has connections and you must make sure all are tight... or you get alot of errors.

Magenta cartridge empty


When you take the toner cartridge off the imaging unit, is there magenta toner in the open slot of the IU? Assuming that there is nothing wrong with the toner cartridge, you are possibly looking at a bad engine control board.

Replaced Toner and Still Wants it to be replaced


You need to manually reset the CRU counter in the service menu to reset the toner count. This is designed so the xerox tech can come in and get paid for work. What you do is the following:
Enter the service mode by turning the machine off....then hold the (i) button and (<) arrow button simultaniously while turning the machine on. Then go down to nvram access enter menu, then go to CRU menu. Then go to the Toner CRU count menu, then select the toner you wish to reset and allow the machine to reset.
