It runs freely and drys for a couple of minutes then shuts down and starts beeping. You can push cancel and start again.

My GE Spacemaker DSXH47 dryer will run fine for a few minutes then shut down and start beeping. I can cancel and start again and then it does it all over again.

  • geraldhelms Sep 26, 2009

I have a GE DSXH47 dryer and it keeps beeping, even when you turn it off and when you turn it on, it's shuts off after about a minute. The buttons are not stuck and it's free from lint.

  • geraldhelms Sep 30, 2009

The dryer was able to be reset and when it shut down it would still beep for a long. Now the dryer will beep but it will not even run at all.

  • geraldhelms Sep 30, 2009

The controls still light up but the dryer is not coming on as before. It can not be reset.

  • geraldhelms Oct 01, 2009

It is not a gas dryer and it it is not the door. It beeps all the time now. Will not run.

  • geraldhelms Oct 02, 2009

Where can I check these these fuses and main board at?

  • geraldhelms Oct 06, 2009

I took the dryer apart and thermastat on the lower part of the blower in the front of the dryer is dryer is showing 35 ohm and the diagram calls for fifty. is that a problem?

  • geraldhelms Oct 06, 2009

Could I get a price and part number for the thermestat. We are getting a 35 ohm reading without the wires on. This is the stat that is in the blower.

If dryer shut down early, then it is either thermostat, high limit switch, or control board. Check also door switch, motor and belt, and fan motor.

If after stopping the controls do not respond, then it is likely the timer board. When it is the thermistor it will just stop.
Here the parts:

THERMAL LIMITER - 1236 on diagram.

Check that the filter and outlet pipes are clear.

It could be the door switch that is faulty so make sure that it is not loose. If this is not the issue it is most likely that either the radiant heat sensor or the hi-limit switch is defective and need replacing by a service engineer.

I think that it is most likely that either the radiant heat sensor or the hi-limit switch is defective and needs replacing. These are the most common causes of such problems assuming that the gas supply is OK.

Then all you have left to check is the controller board, the heating element, the in line thermal fuses (1 or 2 of them) which are the most likely candidates, and any in line fuse in the mains supply. Check the controller board for any burns or exploded components.

The thermal fuses, and resettable thermal fuses where fitted, are generally attached to top of the drying compartment / tumble drum compartment and can be accessed from the rear of the machine. The exact location does vary from machine to machine. Also make sure that the lint filter is kept clean and free of lint / dust. Once removed from the dryer it is a good idea to vacuum the area where it sits in the dryer. Also the lint filter should be vacuumed and occasionally washed with warm water and mild washing up liquid or detergent to clean all the residual dust and dirt that it accumulates during use.

The motor(main) is not working due to being jammed. Check if the rotating parts/bucket is rotating freely. If any one seems tight or jammed call a authorized repairman to rectify it and get a service warranty for 6 months, at least 3 months.
GE have to honor that much if their authorized people repair it...............sodeep

First check the power outlet with a simple bulb. Next check if ground is present by insrting one wire to the live one and the other to the middle socket. If properly grounded the bulb should glow with equal brightness. If any of these fail then check the MCB. Even if the motors have ajam and require more current, then the Mainboard(House) switch should trip
But the beeping sound is emanating, power is reaching and a internal fuse, if blown will produce the same effect .....................sodeep

Yes it could, if too low temp is set i.e. the heater resistance is much lower than thus producing less heat. Since it can produce less heat which your dryer has tried/used try to compensate by the warning you with beeps, and shutting off the dryer's heating, but by resetting it has been forced to keep trying till it finally gave up & is indicating via continuous beeps that its a serious problem and without repairing it the dryer will not work till its rectified........................sodeep

WHY IS MY LG GAS DRYER NOT ADVANCING TO COOL DOWN CYCLE?

If its a newer dryer, they have moisture sensors that determine if it should shut down early or stay on longer if needed. Let it run the extra time and see what happens. If it keeps doing it, then the sensor is defective.

Good Morning friend, thank you for your post!

From my understanding your Frigidaire dryer, LEQ1442ES1, will run and then shut down after three or four minutes. I would recommend a reset on your dryer which you can do by unplugging your power cord for roughly ten minutes.

If that does not correct the issue it sounds like a potential problem with your control panel or a sensor. I would suggest having a professional come out and repair your appliance to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

My dryer wont start at all...

Did you check the door switch. If it is open (not making contact) the machine will not run. Could be the motor start/run switch which could be stuck with lint (clean it) or worn out ( replace the motor).

GE Dryer shuts off w/ blinking and beeping

I just fixed that problem with mine. I tried many, many things. Final solution was vacumming out the holes in the rear of the drier. (Prior to that, I removed the lint filter and holder, checked all connections and vacummed out that area. I unplugged the vent hose to confirm there was no cluggs. I found resetting the breaker would work for about a half hour.) Just vacum out the rear of the dry. Not only will the beeping stop, but as an added bonus, you cloths will dry much faster!!!
