Hi there the likely thing is that there is a small blockage in the print heads not allowing the jet to fire and causing a blank line. You could remove the print head turn it upside down using a soft cloth clean the print head also use a alcohol based fluid to aid you.
Try this if it's doesn't work then the print head will need replacing you will be able to buy online.

You may either have a bad connection in the thermal array or dirt/dust on it.
If you have never performed maintenance on the device you can find an easy button here http://www.cleanteam.com/Thermalcards.html
Otherwise if you feel brave, open her up! Turn off the power first of course. Grab a micro-fiber cloth (like for photo lens cleaning) and a bottle of at least 99% isopropylene alcohol.
Dampen the cloth with the alcohol (not super saturated) and with moderate to gentle pressure swipe the thermal strip (the cover is usually made of glass, be careful not to break it.) Repeat with a clean area of the cloth, dampen with alcohol, swipe. Do this several times and let sit to dry for at least 5 min.
Put her back together and you should be good to go!
