When Moter gets hot it won't idle then stalls when open throttle

Hello Ian. I would check the big three. Compression, spark and fuel. Once engine warms up and dies I would immediately check compression and compare it to stock spec. If that is good I would hook up an inline spark tester and run unit , while observing spark tester to see if you lose spark. Then I would check for fuel obstructions, lines, carb, etc. This should greatly narrow your problem. If you have questions, just post in this thread and I will get back to you. Good luck.

Engine (Quad-4) turns over, starts momentarily, then quits; this will happen over and over, but it will not continue to run???

Check if all of the plugs are getting spark. You can do that by pulling the high tension wire at the spark plug end and over the engine check if all are getting the blue arc. Check if the fuel filter needs changing. The fuel supply may also not be consistent, check during start up if fuel is being supplied to the lines via the filter or the hose to the engine also after the engine dies. Fuel may just be only at the start up and when idling supply is low or gone.
I am unsure if your year has the fuel pump already, it may be the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump has gone bad.
Try cleaning the intake with carb cleaners just to rule out dirt in the sensors and the manifold. Check for leaks in the vacuum hoses and air duct from the filter to the intake. It may also be the IAC valve or the EGR for the EFI variants, IAC especially if the idling after start up and before dying is rough. It may need cleaning or replacing.
If you still have the carb or it was converted to carb you may need to adjust the fuel and air by moving screws by quarter turns on the carb and taking note of the movements. It could also be the jets for the fuel which may need cleaning. Carb cleaner would do the job but for tough dirt you may have to remove the carb and clean the internals. During cleaning you may inspect the valves and the parts for wear.

Starts fine but dies when set to run.

You either have a air leak in a fuel line, carb jets are plugged, or carb seals went bad. They sell a rebuild kit for your carb, 10-15 dollars. I would start by removing carb spraying it with carb cleaner and blowing it out with a air gun, put it back on and see if this worked. If not I would replace fuel lines and rebuild carb.

LINCOLN 225 WELDER OLDER MODEL ABOUT 1985. 16HPENGINE. AFTER GETTING GOOD AND WARMED UP IT STARTS MISSING SOMETIMES BACK FIRES EVENTUALLY DIES. REPLACED COIL REBUILT CARB ,NEW FUEL FILTER AND LINES....

check plug and wire. you will want to do a compression test while you have the spark plug out and make sure you have no blow-by that will cause it to miss.

Changed Spark Plugs & Air Cleaner on 2003 Rebel CMX now when it warms up it idles way down & dies

Adjust and if needed, clean the carb. If fuel injected, turn up idle or let computer adjust itself which it will eventually do through time.

The engine will not throttle up and it runs rough. Dies at an idle. Whats wrong Already changed spark plug and put new gas in

Sounds like the carb is needing a good cleaning. Get a spray can of Berryman's Carb spray cleaner.
Take the carb off and clean the carb bowl (if it's a 4 stroke motor) and remove the gas line, and with the spray tube nozzle, spray out as much of the jets, orifices, etc in your carb, let it dry out and reassemble.
Also, take the air filter/cleaner off and make sure it's clean. If it's full of dust and dirt, it will choke the carb off and it'll die at idle.
You can test this by removing the air filter element and starting the tiller. Alot of the small engines have a low oil sensing device and will shut down the engine if there is insufficient oil in the crankcase... be sure to check that too.
Let me know how it goes.

Craftsman GT5000 W/22hp B+S surges and dies when warm

Replace the spark-plug, check the quality of the fuel(gas that is mixed or was stored more then three months is stale and wont fire correctly) make sure the fuel and air filter not clogged. If there is no change then your problem may be more technical, a nest may be restricting the govenor or you missed something with the carb and there still is debre causing it to stall.

Bike runs at Idle but dies when given gas

have you changed the fuel filter? you are not getting enough gas, are jets squeaky clean? there is a good fuel system cleaner in the USA called Berrymans B12. put some in the tank warm up bike then let it stand overnight and see what happens. if still no luck repeat process. if you still have same problem then get new fuel filter

good luck
