Question about Sloan M-101526-F42 Flushmate?® Complete Replacement System for FM IV 504

Sloan Flushmate M-101526-F3-Constant Filling

Although it is a low fill (hissing & a dripping sound inside the tank) it does sound like the tank is filling with water. I called Sloan and they said I had to replace the unit. Cost=$105+. I checked the screen, no blockage. I checked the pressure as described in the manual. OK. I removed the whole ceramic tank (with the unit inside still attached) to check the screen and after re-attaching it, on the first flush, a bunch of what looked like dead algae came out into the bowl. It doesn't seem to be low-filling now (no hissing or dripping) but is there anything I can do to make sure there isn't algae buil-up in the tank that may have caused this problem to begin with? Really can't afford a $105+ repair bill now.

    Since the Flushmate empties and refills with each cycle, I can't imagine algae or anything else "growing" inside the Flushmate tank. I've never seen anything like that before. Is there any evidence of a leak in the Flushmate tank? What's the serial number of the Flushmate? If they told you it needed to be replaced, it probably does. If it's an old one, it may be part of the "seam advisory" on the Flushmate Web site. Depending on the age of the toilet, water conditions, etc., the spongy tank-to-bowl gasket may have deteriorated or started to degrade over time. Any chance the algae-like substance is the same color as the tank-to-bowl gasket?

There is a lifetime warranty on the tank and a ten year warranty on parts. Call flushmate and ask. they will not tell you otherwise.

If you use any chemicals in the tank it will void the warranty.

Yes I believe it does. But call the mfr to be sure . Most toilets are made so that you can only use their matching parts.

Hissing sound after flushing a flushmate

The washer that shuts the water off is failing. It shut stop incoming water completely when the tank is full.

I have a Sloan Flushmate mod M-101526-F3. It seems to be laking the pressure to flush away the waste completely. Is there an adjustment that I can make?

The only adjustment you can make is to crank your water pressure up...
But that probably will not solve your problem...
The best thing to do is to call the 800 number on the top of the tank and get technical assistance from them directly... they also will send you free parts if you need parts...

We have 4 flushmates & one of them does not shutoff after flush'g & fills up our septic tank ----how do i ajust it to stop

there is no adjustments for the flush mate. only adjustment is for the handle. if your flushmate is not shutting off after flushing, you need to replace the flush valve.

Have you tried the "800" number on the tank label or visited the Flushmate Web site?

Could be related to the plumbing or the Flushmate. Technical support should be able to help you pinpoint the cause and, if it's Flushmate-related and under warranty, provide a resolution.

My model# is M-101526-F.I purchase unit 7/2000.When I try to flush,I don,t have the pressure that I normally get.I do see some water in the tank.I also need to shake the handle to stop the filling process...

Have you tried the "800" number on the Flushmate label? Loss of air pressure may mean there's a leak in the cartridge, air inducer valve, or possibly even the tank itself.

The handle-shaking thing typically means the handle and rod are binding up and holding the cartridge down after the flush or that you need to increase the clearance between the rod and cartridge cap.

Flushmate tech support should be able to help you identify the cause of the air loss and advise you on the cartridge cap adjustment.
