Question about Mitsubishi WT-46809 46" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Certain HD settings won't work

I can use the HD inputs on the back for my cable box HD Channels, but sometimes the regular channels flicker. I tap the back, around the inputs, and they come back on. Also, my Xbox comes on in regular mode, flickering. Then when the game comes on, in HD, it doesn't flicker. When Xbox is Turned off, flicker. Is it just a loose connection?

No the set uses only two settings in the Y, Pb,Pr which it swithes back and forth. when a 480i,480p SD singal is detected it will switch to 480p, when an HD signal is detected it swiches to 1080i. when it swiches the picture scrambles for a second or two. to correct this in your cable box (if it's a motorola box) leave the tv on, press the power button on the box to shut down the box. next press the menu button on the box and the internal menu will show. use the cursor buttons on the box to select "480i overide" use the arrow to the right to select "streached" them hit menu to get out. hit the power button to turn the box back on.

No HD on tv

no it does not, you have regular channels via a box and what is the connection on the set for the HD channels? If from same box do not overlook that the set and box were likely unplugged.

reboot the set and the box both by unplugging for a while and if still no HD reprogram the TV channels which in some modes takes a bit of time--no relation between power board and HD reception.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

Sometimes when changing channels it indicates "no input". Sometimes you can go to previous and then back and the channel will come up, other times, you need to power off and back on as the TV totally...

This actually sounds more like a signal issue on the cable box. When you go from regular digital chs to HD channels sometimes boxes will distort or pause the picture when changing channels (it's not the cable or satellite, it's your TV trying to read the different format of the chs) this is normal. Also, some TVs may need to have a firmware update and you can normally get it from the Manufacturer's website

I purchased a SANYO-DP46848 42"HDTV. I have a Cable box and my cable provider (Time Warner Cable) provides free HD Channels. However.... I CANNOT PICKUP ANY HD CHANNELS ON THE NEW TV. WHY???...

I just got the same exact one, when it searches automatically the first time it doesn't look for digital channels. go to Menu>manual channel search>cable. it will look for all possible signals and will take forever probably. the free digital channels will take several seconds to switch channel to channel, but they're there! They will show up on your screen as "DC 91-2" or similar. you can switch back to regular cable channels with the input button, you just cycle through all the inputs. hope that helps.

Problem w60 inch using hdtv cable box

i know this problem, happened to me with the comcast Motorola HD receiver box. The key is with the setting in the cable box. Switch on the TV. Set the channel to normal tuner channel 3 or HD input. Turn off the cable HD box. Press the Menu Button on the Cable box or the remote. You should see a Menu. Use the cursor keys to navigate The default setup is also one of the option, Right click on your cursor keys acts like the computer keyboard enter key and applies the change. The default setup is 16:9, the shacking would happen if you have set the picture type to "PAN SCAN". change it to either 16:9 or 4:3 Letter Box. The shacking should stop. Hope it helps.
