Not sure about your model.
Look on the motor, sometimes there is a reset button on the motor.

There is no reset button, check yoru breaker, by turning FULLY OFF (somewhat forcefully off) then back on and test again.

All thermal limiters will auto reset when cooled...

I had to replace a house breaker so turned off all outside breakers including dryer. Now the dryer will run but not get hot. Is there a reset button or something that was triggered when changed breaker?

Hi, welcome to fixya. It sounds to me like your 30amp breaker for the dryer isn't fully reset. If that is the case the unit could only be running on 120v, which it will do just fine...with one exception. No heat. Turn the dryer breaker all the way off again and back "on" and give it a go. Let me know what you find, I'll be looking for your reply here. Good luck Macmarkus :)

Heats when unit is not on

Same thing just happened to my DEGX1. I took it apart and one of the heating elements had broken and fell to the bottom of the metal case. I think it was creating a short to ground and making it heat. I removed the broken element wires and attached them back best I could and did a test run with no problems. It is not heating when off now either. searspartsdirect.com had the elements for $67 so I ordered a set and will replace both of them (part #395583). My dryer is only 4 years old and 3 weeks ago the driver belt broke. Irritating they can't make them last any longer these days.

Dryer shuts off after about 5-10 minutes of running. The top of the dryer is hot.

Howdy: There is a thermostat inside the unit in the back. If this has lint clinging to it, it will shut off unit. Also the firing ignitor has two soleniods
that stick and turns off unit too early. But with the top of dryer hot I would say the heat always stays on and the thermostat shuts off ignitor. The firing should be a pulse type heat, not a constant heat. Good luck - Doug

Amana (Whirlpool) LE8517W2 electric dryer doesn't heat & more...

yes you should replace your thermostat because the thermostat is what tells you heating element to shut down. They probably ckecked it for continuity and it seemed good but in reality it's not functioning properly. you seem to know about your dryer quite well so here's a site to go to and see about maybe replacing the entire heating unit check out items 1914 and 667745 at www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-LE8517W2-%3d%3d&z=100

My dryer was working fine the other day now it doesnt get hot,and its not drying my clothes

1st thing I always tell people to do is turn the 30 amp breakers off an then back on. Only the heating element is 240 volts, the motor is 120 volts. So if 1/2 the breaker trips the unit will run, but no heat. Try this first. Also depending on dryer if there are buttons for different heat settings make sure the button is all the way in. Some dryers if you hit several buttons at the same time will cause none to be selected and shut down the heat. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. Turns out the reset button on the back of the dryer needs to be pushed; when you push the reset button you should hear a click. If you do not hear a click the problem was probably not the reset button. The button shuts down the dryer heating elements if they are getting too hot and also keeps the drum from turning unless the start button is held down.

If you push the reset button and the dryer starts to work again, I strongly recommend that you stop the dryer and investigate why the heater elements overheated. In my case there was lint/hair build up on the heater elements themselves. Extensive dryer disassembly is required to properly clean the heating elements but it is worth the prevention of a house fire. While you're at it, clean the rest of the machine and the duct work.

Hope this helps
