G.E Profile gas cook top #JGP640 ignitor.

It is sparking because the module does not sense the heat which would normally cause the sparking to stop.

It can be caused by a poor ground, make sure the ignitor at that burner is clean and free from any obstructions. If it is then it could either be a defective ignitor or spark module.

Spark ignitors on gas stovetop wont stop sparking

Make sure yo haven't spilled liquid on the ignitor becuase this will cuase all ignitors to spark constantly. If all is dry, the spark module must be replaced.

Dead burner on kitchenaid gas cooktop?

it is strange that you have no gas and no spark! if you held a match to the burner and turned the burner valve on it would lite di spite a failed ignitor, but for it not to lite, the burner valve[its what the knob attaches too] would have to be blocked[thats rare]or ........i got it .....the knob is broken.thats the only thing the burner valve and the spark ignitor have in common.try a knob from another have spark, because others are working.spark on troubled burner would work if valve blocked at orifice outlet, and if spark failed you would still get gas they work independent of each other,[but in unison].thats why im thinking knob.its the item that works both .when you turn the knob it opens the gas valve and as the gas valve rotates by turning the knob it activates or turns the spark switch so it closes the curcit allowing the electricty to the spark moduel.hey i hope that helps a little. God bless ,tom

Ignitor quit working on GE Monogram ZGU375NSD3SS...gas stovetop

If it still clicks and tries to spark, get in there with a a toothpick or a pin and clean out any spilled food and / or carbon build up. If the sparker itself doesn't even try, it will need to be replaced.

Viking Gas Burner issue?

is this a sealed burner unit? if so the burner base (the heavy brass part under the burner cap) has to be sitting just right. you will notice that it has holes around the the sides make sure that where your ignitor sparks to it that it aligns with the lowest hole on the burner base. if you have a great flame all around the burner after checking what i mentioned i would replace the spark module. if it continues to drive you crazy with the noise - just unplug it. the burners will continue working fine without power.

Thermador Gas Range - Griddle ignition will not spark

I have a Thermador Gas Range PG364GDBS - Oven, 4 burners, and center griddle. All are gas. The four burners and gas oven work fine. The griddle just stopped working, no spark. Turning on the griddle control, the gas valve opens(hear it), gas flows (smell it), but the ignitor will not spark (no loud or faint spark that I can hear). I got a replacement ignition device (mount at the burner) thinking it might be the problem, but still no spark. I checked the AC voltage at the terminal and measured 39 VAC between the terminal and ground. Not sure if that is the correct voltage. Any insights or advice would be great.

Viking Gas Cooktop - Ignition sparks continuously when in 'on' position

This is likely caused by either a dirty ignition electrode, a cracked ignition electrode, or a bad spark re-ignition module.

Clean and inspect the six electrodes for cracks, If that doesn't solve it order a new
Ignition module from an internet appliance dealer that carries Viking parts like Appliance Zone.

If you replace the Ignition module yourself, make sure to turn off the circuit breaker to the range/cooktop before you work on it. Also, make a drawing of where the different color leads are plugged into the ignition module before you unplug the wires and plug them into the new re-ignitor. If the unit is under one year, this should be covered under the warranty.
Viking had a recall a few years back on their ignitor modules.

Clicking noise on cooktop even when all burners ignite

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.
