Try this. If you have a gfi outlet in the area of the dishwasher make sure its reset and working a lot of times the dishwasher line is run on the same line.

Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.

Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

I start the dishwasher and it does nothing and lights do not turn on either

When your dishwasher won't start, it could be a problem with your electrical panel or the door might not be closing properly.

Check your household electrical panel for a tripped breaker or blown fuse. Also check to make sure the door latches closed properly.

For additional troubleshooting steps you can take and things you can do, read Dishwasher won't start for more suggestions. I hope this helps!

Elctrolux dishwasher won't start, display won't light and it randomly beeps

Check continuity of the 4 small wires that connect to the control panel to the control board. They seem to break where they flex for the door to open and close.

Start won't work.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

A check should be made with the volt/ohmmeter to check if voltage is available to the dishwasher wiring. A voltage check is made by setting the volt/ohmmeter on the 150 A/C scale and placing one probe of the volt/ohmmeter on one wire that supplies voltage to the dishwasher. Place the other probe on the remaining wire. The meter should read 110-125 volts. This would indicate that electrical power was available from the circuit breaker panel to the dishwasher terminal box. If there is no voltage at the dishwasher terminal box electrical wires, the problem could be a defective circuit breaker or fuse, house wiring burned or broken from circuit breaker panel to terminal box. If a defective circuit breaker or fuse is suspected, it would be recommended that a qualified electrician perform these repairs.

Dishwasher will not start after change in electric meter outside. Dishwasher "popped " when it was started Check all circut breakers etc- all fine

if you have 120volts at plug, chk for a breaker inside unit and again voltage inside unit at terms on cord, then if so chk motor for a breaker on the motor, some have built-in breakers, then check door interlock switch for continuity and proper operation, then if electonically controlled check for a fuse and burns on the circuit, you may have suffered a voltage spike, and do it soon, the power supplier may be liable if you can prove he disconnected the neutral and you only had 240volts,this could be a cause also as it becomes a voltage divider circuit w/o the neutral connected
