I have internet explorer and can not download because of security settings? I can not add "fax" from my windows disc (disc looks good). I'm using XP service pac 2. I can not download a wma_mp3_converter program. I think the two problems are related, but I don't know where.

I need a fix for internet exployer

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) browser includes "add-on" applications that can be downloaded and installed from Microsoft, or third-party providers, into Internet Explorer.

Occasionally, add-ons may conflict with other add-ons or software on the computer, causing errors.

These can also occur when IE settings conflict with newly installed add-ons.

Resolve add-on related error conditions quickly in IE8 by resetting Internet Explorer to Microsoft defaults.

Click the "Start" button. Click "Run" or "Search," and type "inetcpl.cpl in the "Run" or "Search" box, and press the "Enter" key.

Select the "Advanced" tab in the "Internet Options" window, then click the "Reset" button.

Click the "Reset" button again to confirm that you wish to reset Internet Explorer to Microsoft defaults.

Select the "Close" button, once the display indicates that the reset process has been completed.

Click the red "X" in the upper-right corner of Internet Explorer to close the browser.

Open Internet Explorer and the errors should be resolved.

Experience problems with Internet Explorer 7 right off the bat, and it may be due to installation problems.

Make sure you reboot twice after installing the new browser.

Download any updates for IE7.

Check the Microsoft website for recommended updates if you don't have automatic updates turned on for your computer.

Check your add-ons, those "extras" like ActiveX controls for your browser, if you still experience problems.

After accessing "manage add-ons" through the "Tools" menu in your browser window, disable all add-ons, and try browsing.

If you can successfully browse without errors on the page, then one of your add-ons may be the culprit. Enable add-ons one at a time and try browsing.

Once you find the problem, delete it or update the add-on to work with Internet Explorer 7.

Contact Microsoft if a website denies permission for entering when it shouldn't.

It could be a problem with document. domain property or the protocols of the URLs not matching.

Update and run the most recent version of JavaScript. JavaScript is a scripting language used on many websites.

Adjust security settings in the browser if you still experience page error messages.

Select the "Tools" menu and access "Internet Options." Under the "Security" tab, choose "Custom Level" to pull up the security settings window and review for possible problems.

Hope this helps

Try to uninstallur internel explorer. Go to control panel>add remove program and click add/remove windows component. Untick the internet explorer to remove. then download the internet explorer or you can do the same process uninstalling but this time tick the internet explorer box. I think it will search for your installation disc so prepare to insert it in your disc rom just in case.

I recive message on start the computer "Internet explorer 6 security prihibit runing ActiveX controls" and i do not view the filles, any filles!

Hi there,

cause:

This issue occurs if the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature is enabled. By default, the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature is enabled in Internet Explorer on Windows Server 2003-based computers.

This enhanced level of security may prevent certain Web sites from displaying as expected in Internet Explorer. For example, programs that require the Web browser may not work as expected because scripts, ActiveX controls, and downloads are disabled.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, add the following Macromedia Web sites
  • http://www.macromedia.com
to the Trusted sites zone in Internet Explorer. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer (if it is not already running).
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Under Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings, click Trusted sites, and then click Sites.
  5. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type http://www.macromedia.com, and then click Add, type http://fpdownload.macromedia.com.
  6. Click Add, type http://sdc.shockwave.com, and then click Add.

The Macromedia Web sites are displayed in the Web sites list.
  7. Click Close, and then click OK.
Good to know information:

The Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature configures several security settings that define how you access Internet and intranet Web sites. The configuration also reduces the exposure of your server to Web sites that may pose a security risk. To log on to a Web site that requires Internet Explorer functionality that is disabled by the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature, add that Web site to the Trusted sites zone in Internet Explorer.

For more information about Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration, see the Internet Explorer "Enhanced Security Configuration" Help topic. To do so (on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003), start Internet Explorer, and then on the Help menu, click Enhanced Security Configuration.

Resetting Internet Explorer.

When you reset Internet Explorer settings, all add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of Internet Explorer. This article helps you reset Internet Explorer.

To have us reset Internet Explorer for you, go to the “Fix it for me” section. If you would rather reset Internet Explorer yourself, see how to do it in the "Show me how to do it" section or go to the “Let me do it myself” section.

If the problem is caused by damaged or incompatible Internet Explorer settings or add-ons, you can usually resolve the problem by resetting Internet Explorer settings.

To use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Control Panel, follow these steps:
  1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
  2. If you use Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run. Type the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER: inetcpl.cplIf you use Windows Vista, click Start
Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER: inetcpl.cplThe Internet Options dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
  5. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
  6. Start Internet Explorer again.
For detailed information about the changes that the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature makes on your computer, go to the "How the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature works" section.

(Please give me a big thumbs up when you rate my answer, thanks.)

Internet Explorer 7

I would guess that your default settings have changed for some reason.
the easiest way will be to uninstall IE7 and re-install it again. that will take few minutes and everything will work for you:
1. go to : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
2. download the file and save it to your desktop
3. go to Control panel --> add/remove software--> remove IE7
4. install IE7 again

How do you fix the internet explorer

You do not say which version of Windows you are using or the version of Internet Explorer so here is a general idea to fix.

If you are running XP or Vista download the new version IE8 and install it. Here is the link:
