I can try this how ever I read that these Dell models where on recall for broken mother boards... I belive my motherboard has just given in. Some people posted fixes by closing all vents for laptop and leaving it on for 40min to fix cracks in soldering. Other say to replace mother board but since it's a reoccurring issue I might just get a new laptop... (depending how expensive the board is). I tried to reformat since i was told my display driver might have bitten the dust but it didnt work neither.

It's either the backlight lamp or screen inverter is busted. Here's how to determine which is which:

  1. Grab a flashlight.
  2. Boot up.
  3. Shine the flashlight onto the screen.
  4. If you cannot see any display even a faint one, the screen inverter is dead, else the backlight lamps are busted.
  5. Replace which ever is the culprit.

I have an HP Pavilion a4000. It just stopped working a couple days ago. Display just rolled up and quit. I've been through everything I know how to deal with. When you push the power button it

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Acer Aspire 5052 nothing on LCD

If the LCD display worked until the processor over heated and then went blank, and would work again once it cooled down, then yes I do. As you described above, the screen going blank and blank still on reboot ( no time to cool down ), then the next day the LCD displayed again ( cooled down over night ). Appears to be directly related to the over heating problem.
But if the display problem progressed to the point that the PC would boot up cold and the display was still blank, then I would think your graphics card will need repair.

Toshiba laptop will not startup

Without being about to do a HANDS on inspection of the laptop, it could have a couple of possible problems.

Here is my Best guess as to the probable cause. You have a loose/damaged connection on the Display screen. More than likely the power supply line to it. When it reboots it cools enough to pull away from its connection. Then gives you trouble rebooting until you apply and remove power several times. Why this is working by my theory is that each time you apply power it is sparking in that loose connection and slowly warming it back up until it finally connects again. Then all is fine until you reboot again and start the process all over.

This is a theory and I Can NOT guarantee that this is the problem. If it is. Then unless you are experienced at dealing with small electronics and high voltage. I would strongly recommend having it looked at by an experienced technician.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance

Reset login on sidekick lx

ollow the steps below to clear the datastores off and simulate a hard reset:
- Reboot the device by pressing @+1+0
- IMMEDIATELY press and hold the 'R' key on the keyboard. Continue to hold the 'R' key down
- The device will reboot, and when the initial boot screen (the 4 face buttons animation shows) displays, the screen will clear and the device will reboot again.
- Let go of the 'R' key at this point, and the device will reboot with no datastores, and force a resync.

Proview PRO576 error message "mode not supported" and will show nothing else

Okay, we got a fix by having another monitor hooked up to our computer and going in to display and changing the display settings to a lower setting. The screen resolution - turn it to lower - I guess somehow - the setting was too high for our monitor. Don't know how it changed itself though. Anyway, change it to a lower resolution then re-hook up your monitor and see if it works. The reslution can be pushed back up until you notice the problem again.

BSoD, Garbled Screen, Boot Failure.

If you are getting garbage on the screen before windows tries to load the laptop probably has a bad motherboard.

It's possibly only the video output is going bad on it, try hooking it to an external monitor and see if you get the same weird stuff on that screen.

Good luck, let me know how it goes
