Question about Dell E173FPf 17" TFT LCD Flat Panel Monitor
The monitor seems to be working ok but since the pop and burnt smell every time I turn on monitor there is a foul smell. Is that at all harmful to breath in? I can't purchase a new one at this time.
The pop you heard was probably a capasitor. If i am correct the smell will get more prominet how longer the screen is on.
If it is a capasitor, which i believe it is, it will not be expensive at all to repair. Just take it to an electronic repair shop and let them just put in a new capasitor. The vapours of the smell is not deadly fo the small amounts of time and the concentration you are inhaling, but it gives me headaches.
