Trying to put 2g mamory into computor only 1 slot

Unfortunately there is NO card reader on this model, have you thought about a USB card reader as they are pretty cheap to buy on ebay.

This model has two memory slots, it has 512 MB in one of the slot. The maximal memory to support is 1GB for each slot and 2 GB total.

your amilo 3520 can support up to 4gig memmory that would be 2x2gig

This laptop has 2 slots
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 512MB per slot.
So maximum memory supported is 1GB.
If you install more memory there is a high probability it will not be recognised.

Sorry, This laptop only supports one memory card slot upto 1.7GB

Here is the problem, the laptop take 2GB RAM. 1GB in each slot, so get 2X1GB RAM. They are cheap now. You need 2, 1GB sticks of ram. For cheap prices go to Newegg.com

It's not a problem as u think..
Yes your Ram is 256 M.B // but your Vga Card is built in the mother board with 64 M.B ..so it's share the Vga card Memory from ur basic ram (64 - 256 = 190~192 M.B) .
So u just need to increase ur rams by new one or replace this ur current ram by 2g.byte ram .

hmmm..ok...try them one at a time, and make certain that the laptop can id each of them. if that works, swap them in the sockets..if that does not work, then one of your sockets is unhappy.

also, use F2 when loading up, and see if memory is present in system setup screen..be careful in there, of course, since it's the nerve center of that whole computer.

i don't know this model (amilo pro v2040 ), but usualy the memory modules are one under the other (so u should remove the first memory module to be able to insert the one underneth it) or one facing the other (and there should be no problem in inserting the modules...) If u don't succed, you should be able to find the tehnical book of the laptop on it;s producer site ....

Best to do is to know how much RAM does that computer able to take. In absence of the manuals you needed a technician to help you check it for its capabilities and then he /she can advise.

Otherwise most, laptops have 3 memory slots unlike desktops which most of them have 4 memory slots.

You need an IT man to help find where the slots are.
