If the camera has an internal memory and that is where the pics are being saved to i need the model number. But in the mean time if you are using an sd card try pulling out the card. Some cards have a slide on them that locks the card so you cant write over pic. What happens is some times handling the cards and inserting them the slide accidentally gets moved. this link is to a picture of the lock.

I have a Kodak Easy Share C182 . I want to delete some pictures and it tells me to remove protection to delete, and it also tells me image is protected please tellmje stepby step how to clear this...

The most common cause for telling you that the card is locked is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position.
- see photo below:
Set the lock slider to locked or unlocked.man-3ds-sdcardlockswitch-287-181.png
  • The down position will enable write-protection, locking the card.
  • The up position will unlock the card, enabling you to save and erase data on the card

Canon PowerShot SX20 IS Digital Camera keeps giving me a memory card error. The memory card is a 4gig PNY memory card (lower budget)

Make sure the slide switch on the side of the card is unlocked. Your camera may just want you to format the card in the camera. Download any pics from it first using a card reader if necessary.

Olympus 850sw- write protect and picture error

Sounds as if the memory card has corrupted data on it now. You will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup Menu - right arrow to Format- Press Ok. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect and picture error messages and the card can be used again.

"Write Protect"?!

It's the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1.
