Question about liftmaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Transmitter 300MC

1 Answer

Cannot get any remote to operate the door opener. I've checked this w/ another remote which does work when used to operate another door. It appears I'm not able to reprogam the remote that came w/ the door opener (1/2 HP Chamberlain 1996 mfg'd date) per the directions on the power unit. This was initially noticed when the factory remote in the car rear view mirror was not working. Any thoughts

Typically the remote codes are stored on the controller board (called logic board). if the wall switch for your opener still works, but you are unable to reprogram the existing remotes that came with the unit (assuming of course you checked batteries in the remotes) then it is likely that the logic board has died. Given that the opener is 13 years old, this is not unexpected. New openers have a host of new features including advanced security, so it might be a good time to invest in a new one.

Intermittent remote trouble

Your wall control is hard wired and doesn't use the receiver portion of the logic board. The remotes do. Your receiver is going bad.

Remote not working

you will need to train (link) the remote to the garage door opener. to do this you will need to find the remote "train" button on the operator.
If you have the manual for the garge door opener this will show you where it is located.
push the train button on the operator, an LED light will start blinking. Then push one of the buttons on the remote. the LED light on the operator will stay on. push the button on the remote again and the light on the operator will turn off.
try the remote it should work now.

If you can unlock it with the key,and not the remote, then it sounds like the lock actuator is not working in that door.In order to check it, the door panel has to come off.

Programing garage door opener remote

ok crystal, calm down this is an easy one! first locate the smart button on your openers , next you will press and hold down the smart button until you see an indicator light above it shut off, while your holding that button the light will be solid ,Now your ready to program your remotes ,first programm one side by taking each of your four remotes and pressing the smart button on machine then pressing the button on the remote you want to program,by doing that you will notice the lightbulbs on your machine shut off and go back on , This is an indicator that your machine has accepted the code , now do it with the other three remotes , after you,ve programmed all four ,go over to the other machine and repeat the process but this time you have to choose another button on your remotes since you,ve programmed all four remotes to the same button on each remote ,just choose the bottom button on your remotes this time to keep them seperated , hope this helps you and it is as easy as 1-2-3 your owners manual will describe exactly the same ,i know because i,ve installed over 27,000 machines working as an installer for sears, please leave a nice feedback rating if i was able to help you, good luck,Sincerely Glenn Mayer
