Question about Panasonic PT-40LC12 40" Rear Projection HDTV
The TV stoped funtioning (black screen) - I checked the bulb and found to be all right. I saw few answers for the same question to check the fuse and check the voltage at the ballast. Please help me how to do those checks. Thanks and appreciate your help in advance.
Found that the thermistor/temp measuring device is suspect, no resistance across legs. There is a label there that says F701 see service manual
I went here for a tech manual for the Panasonic tv.
Part Description: FUSE
Part Number: LSJA0411-1
it was mounted to the case that holds the lamp. had to remove the back panel, etc. Also think I had to splice in the fuse or something. was a while ago.
i purchased a NTE8115 from my electronics supplier, closest I could find. Radio shack also has them.
remove the back cover and measure for continuity across the thermal fuse
above the lamp housing.
if open jump it wth a 5 amp fuse, be sure to close the safety switch with
the small blue lever then try to power on.
If comes on ok you will need to replace the entire ballast assembly to get
Panasonic does not have a part number for just the fuse on the PT40LC
It is possible to cut off the fuse and replace with another but dont solder

After 6 days of inability to start my set, it miraculously started up last evening after I pressed and held the power button. Again the power LED flashed green 7 times, then red once then green again while I held the button in but this time the green flashing turned to green solid and the set powered up normally. (I had tried holding this button in several times earlier to no avail.) My problem is apparently not the bulb nor the ballast but rather some intermittency such as a bad solder joint or a connector that is intermittent. Anyone else experienced this sequence of symptoms?
