Hi. I just got a virus on my Acer laptop and now the browser will only let me go to the AVG antivirus purchase webpage. This feels like a scam. How do I access the web for a free download?

Download AVG Free version from free.avg.com Viruses will not force you to websites that is spyware or adware

Email avg alert them of this and they will also help in preventing it happening again.

There are total 29 spyware, trojan rougeand adware viruses in the pc software.how ican get rid of all these please .product is window vista.hp pavilion intel core 2 quad processor

You gave no mention of anti spyware or antivirus programs.

You need to reboot your computer in safe mode (F8) as it is starting.

Once in Safe Mode, run your antispyware, antivirus and antimalware programs. then restart in normal mode and run them again.

If you have none of these programs, try:

Advance system Care
- anti spyware
AVG AntiVirus
Security 360 - anti malware, trojans

good luck

I have a problem with uninstalling this alpha anitivirus it wont let me uninstall it everytime i click uninstall and it is not on my add/remove programs list and it also says that i have all these threats,...

  1. Check to see if the problem is adware or your own programs that are just lagging up your computer. Open the Task Manager [CTRL + ALT + DEL] and look at the processes tab. Find any processes that have an abnormally high Memory Usage. If you don't recognize their names, you may have spyware, however, you should not try to disable them in the Task Manager.
  2. Go to google.com and type in the names of suspicious looking executables. Pages like processlibrary.com or neuber.com are good at identifying malicious processes. [Note: some viruses disguise themselves as windows processes, it is well worth googling0 every process in task manager to find out which could be malicious]
  3. When discovered which processes are malicious, go to My Computer and search your C: drive for the executable. Delete the executable and any associated files. If an error message saying it is in use, stop the process using task manager and try again.
  4. When dealing with executables disguised as windows processes, search for them as described in the previous step. And if any duplicates appear in the search results, take CARE to only delete the suspect file that is not where it should be i.e. not in C:WINDOWSSystem32. When identified as malicious, delete the executable and associated files as before.
  5. Adware often comes 'packaged' with other programs such from places such as Yahoo! and Smiley Central. By not installing/downloading these programs you minimize the amount of adware/spyware you get. Delete these programs first.
  6. For all other Spyware/Adware download a free, easy-to-use anti-adware program like Spybot-S&D or AdAware. AdAware is a bit easier and is recommended for inexperienced users. NOTE: These programs will catch what the other misses so install both.
  7. Also there is free 'AVG free edition': "AVG" which is a free anti virus program, and should find any or most viruses and Trojan horses in your system, and that gives the same protection as Norton or McAfee, and that sends regular updates automatically and by request.
  8. Use a browser such as Mozilla Firefox, which blocks most adware.
  9. Also, Microsoft's Windows Defender provides real-time scanning of your system, and has a comprehensive definitions library that does an excellent job of detecting spyware.
If this does not work please e-mail me at kasey.fleming@hotmail.com for further help. I want to try and resolve this issue for you.

Also what anti virus and anti spyware products are you using - if anything symantec then get rid of that and use avg free or avast ( register it for free and then its free for home use )
Also for anti spyware use spybot search and destroy as well as a squared

TROJAN HORSE

Trojan horse virus' can be very tricky to get rid of sometimes. AVG is one of the best out there for this but sometimes it cannot do it all. It just depends on what kind of virus it is. First of all, run a complete scan with "Spybot Search & Destroy". It is a free spyware removal tool. Make sure the dat files are up to date on all of these cleaners. The run a scan usin "AdAware". It is a free adware removal tool. Then after both of them have run, run a complete virus scan again with AVG. Most virus' out there now are in the form of spyware and adware and are downloader trojans. They download files in the background without your knowledge and really lag your computer. You will also get lots of pop ups while surfing the internet. I hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out?

Malware threats

What your seeing is called Adware, they are trying to make you think you are infected to buy their software to remove it.

What you need to do:
Go to www.ewido.com a reseller of AVG, download the software and run a FULL scan once complete delete the threats its finds.
