Question about Nikon Coolpix 4500 Digital Camera

Accessing Continuous Mode

For some reason unknown to me I can't select "Continuous" or "Best shot selection" modes from the shooting menu. I've gone through the manual but just get more confused.

I know that I've probably locked those selections out by making a conflicting menu choice but just can't figure out what it is. When I go into the shooting menu I can scroll down and select white balance or metering but the highlight skips continuous and best shot selector and goes directly to image adjustment and saturation control, etc. Help please!!

My problem is IDENTICAL - it SKIPS right over CONTINUOUS Mode. I've tried to find settings that keep me from entering CONTINUOUS Mode, but can't seem to find any.

Here's how I finally solved it:
    Go to the SHOOTING menu
Go to the bottom of that menu
    Select RESET ALL
    Select RESET

With that done, I was able to then access all of the SHOOTING menus, select CONTINUOUS, and set up for MOVIE.
(Got some good shots of a Nor'easter in NH.)

Hi,

Are you in manual mode (and not auto) when trying to select continuous or best shot? Try lowering the image resolution also.

Try pushing the menu button and selecting "shooting menu". There you should find options for: Image Mode, Whire Balance, Continuous Shooting, ISO, and Color options.
Setting the White Balance to "Auto" actually produces the most accurate and reliable results.

How do I set the continous shooting on my finepix s3380?

This information will be on page 40-41 of your user manual. If you do not have it, send me an email to LBrown18062@hotmail.com.
1. Choose a continuous shooting mode. Press the progressing camera button to display continuous shooting options. Press selector < or > to highlight the desired option and press MENU/OK.
2. Press the shutter button halfway to focus.
3. Pictures will be taken while the shutter button is pressed. Shooting ends when the shutter button is released, memory is full, or the selected number of shots has been taken.

How do i use the burst mode on my nikon coolpix s6000?

For Nikon s6000 (altho this question is posted in D5000 section)
Hope you have read the instruction manual by now. In Auto mode, go through the menu to get the shooting mode - there are I think 2 different continous shooting modes for your camera - one standard and one sport (2 others but they either select the best shot of serveral or combine them to make the best shot). Pretty impressive. Don't look in the manual for 'burst' mode, it's called 'continuous'.

For D5000, menu and again shooting options.

When using my coolpix s550 i cannot select Continuous mode

The same thing happened to me. So frusterating! Make sure it is in shooting mode. Go to the shooting mode menu and go all the way down the page to "Distortion Control". Change it to off. Now you can select continuous mode.

How do you take continuous shots? I set it on the setting that says continuous shots but it only takes one picture. My friends also does the same

Continuous shooting is not available in the full Auto mode. You must select Manual mode (the camera silhouette with the M on it), or move the switch to the SCN (selected scene) position.

Continuous mode

i think the frame rate is 1.3 frames per second.

Issue:
How do I set Continuous Shooting?
Solution: Setting Continuous Shooting mode PowerShot SD750 and SD1000.

Continuous Shooting In this mode, the camera shoots continuously while the shutter button is held down. Recording ceases when the shutter button is released. In addition, under the following conditions, continuous shooting can occur at a consistent interval until the SD card is full*.
  • A resolution and compression combination other than 145.gif and 129.gif is selected.
    * If continuous shooting suddenly stops, the SD card may be full.
Continuous shooting is available in all modes except 171.gif[AUTO], stitch_assist_icon.gif[Stitch Assist], coloraccentdropper.gif[Color Accent] and colorswapdropper.gif[Color Swap].
To set Continuous Shooting
  1. Press the cont_icon.gifbutton to display cont_icon.gif.

    cont_menu.gif
  2. Shoot the image.

The camera will continue to record successive images while the shutter button is fully pressed. Recording will cease when the shutter button is released, the card is full or the card does not support a write speed to allow continuous shooting to continue.
To Cancel Continuous Shooting
  1. Press the cont_icon.gif button twice to display single_icon.gif.
caution_a70.gifTo enhance the continuous shooting performance when you suspect the speed has dropped, you are recommended to format the SD card in the camera (Low Level Format) after you save all its images to your computer. note_icon_a70.gif
  • The interval between shots may lengthen slightly when the camera's built-in memory fills.
  • If the flash is firing, the interval between shots will lengthen to accommodate the flash's charging requirements.

How do i use the continuous shot mode on my camera?

Page 18 & 22 of the PDF manual shows where it is located on the menu and how to get there.

Page 23 states the CAMERA selects which of the 16 shots is best.

Page 48 describes Continuous mode under SPORTS.

Page 103 of the manual shows how to do it. (p91 of the printed manual)

NOTE - the PDF page does not correlate to the ACTUAL page numbers.

Type continuous in the pdf search and keep selecting NEXT until you reach the pages I have noted, or Jump directly to the page by typing it in the PAGE field.

Accessing Continuous Mode

Some details first...
  • The continous icon looks like multiple papers stacked on top of each other (in contrast the normal icon for single shot is a square box with an S in it so you can get it back to normal)
  • The camera takes shots at 1.5 frames per second, or about three frames every two seconds for image size of 2272x1704.
  • The shutter-release button has to be held down
  • Continuous is not available in HI image quality
  • Shooting will slow when memory buffer fills.
Setting to continuous...
  • Put your camera in P, S, A, or M mode.
    • I suggest P mode, this is for Program mode and does everything as Auto does, but allows you to override settings (except Aperture and Shutter).
  • Press the Menu button
  • Access the Continuous menu
  • Select the Continuous menu option, again looks like layered papers.
