Tv does nit respond to remote

I have a zrnith e44w46lcd and the remote has stoped working.
I should say the tv has stoped responding to the remote.
The remote works when cold, but when it heats up it stops working.
Yes, I checked the batteries.
The cable remote doesn't work either.

My remote control has also stopped working. All functions seem to work fine when the TV is first switched ON, Frequently, after a period of time, the remote stops working, no functions are recognized by the TV. I'm guessing the problem has something to do with the receiver on the TV since I did change the batteries in the remote, the indicator lights on the remote will light up, and I also viewed the IR window on it through a digital camera and saw it flashing (I read this tip on a forgotten web-site, digital cameras can "see" IR wavelengths). I was going to clean the receiver lens, but I can't find where the receiver target is on the case. My other TV has a red lens on the case where the IR receiver is. I even used compressed air to dust off the entire face of the set, assuming that dust build-up had coated the receiver, but this didn't help.

And finally, I did purchase a universal remote and attempted to use this, but the TV would never recognize it regardless of my attempts at coding it (a pleasant way to waste an hour of your life).

I have the exact same problem as both people above. The TV responds erratically to the remote. At first I figured that my remote was malfunctioning but upon purchase of a universal, I still had the same problem.

Same problem. I turn on the TV with the remote, after a while tv does not respond to remote. Later it will respond and again later it will quick responding to the remote. This has to be a problem with the TV and not the remote.

Same problem. I have a harmony 880 universal remote and the original Zenith remote. I wonder how much the cost of resoldering that connection costs?

I have the same problem. Would this re-soldering be covered under an extended warranty?

My TV stops responding to either the Hamony or the TV remote anywhere from 15-minutes to 1 hour after turning the system on. All other components continue to work fine and respond to the remotes. One I manually turn off the TV and turn it back on after a few minutes it respods properly again for 15 minutes to 1 hour

I am having the same problem. My remote works fine when I first turn on the TV but after it "warming up" the remote stops responding. I am thinking about replacing the receiving eye. Does anybody have success at fixing this known issue?

The problem is inside the TV, caused by a cold soldering on the circuit board where the infrared receiver cables are connected. Needs to be resoldered.

I had the same problem occur, right around the same time the lamp life indicator on the TV turned on. After replacing the bulb (the bulb eventually blew out), the remote works fine. I believe the old bulb was interfering with the proper operation of the remote.

Hi I have a Rio Grande Train set that I bought for my son. The train works but is not responding or working when we use the remote . Ive out brand new batteries in the remote the light comes on when we...

Look for a small opening with little white tabs that can be moved up and down, on both the train and the remote. All the tabs must be in the same position. ( Same thing on a garage door opener.)
If that's not it, make sure the batteries are in correctly in both items, reversed batteries will run lites and such, but not remote controls.

Dstv remote not working on any blue dials? Two tv's in separate rooms, one pvr decoder. Only the red dial works on both tv's & both remotes are working & both tvs responding properly.

Is this a newly installed system? If both tv's are responding to the same remote setting (red in case), it means both tv's are set to the same channel. The tv that is connected to the decoder directly (via AV cables, I presume) is supposed to respond to if the remote is set to red. In order for the second tv to respond when the remote is set to blue, you need to tune the second tv until you find the picture of tv2 (the decoder transmits both tv1 and tv2 on the RF/coaxial output and it seems that your remote tv is tuned to tv1 instead of tv2).

013/ 054/ 055/ 060/ 065/ 067/ 089 These are the three digit codes to Jvc brand TVs. As there is no remote control with you, the first thing to know is, to which code do your TV respond. Some TVs will respond to three digit codes, some others will only respond to four or five digit codes. If your TV do respond to three digit codes, a universal remote control, which have the above said codes in its code list will work. If you wish to get three, four & five digit code list to some popular remote controls, check the links given above. You can choose the proper remote control to your TV. But before buying a new remote control, make sure about the number of digits of codes that TV must have.

TV does not respond to the remote control

I had this happen on mine after about 3 years. Luckily it was on extended warranty. At first the techs re-soldered the connections to the board for the IR sensor but the problem was still intermittent. The next time they replaced the mainboard and all is well - just like new.

TV does not respond to remote

Sounds like the sensor on the television has gone bad, since it works for the VCR. Try a universal remote that you can program the TV and VCR codes into and try it out. If it works for the VCR and TV then you know it's the remote, if the TV still isn't responding then your TV sensor is toast.

My TV won't respond to the remote control

If the remote is working but the TV will not respond, it means that the little IR receiver in the TV has stopped working. This is most likely because the receiver has burned out, but it could also have come loose. This is a very easy thing to correct, but the set should be serviced by a qualified tech.
