Hp vista and monitor hp2509 was working fine. i uninstalled monitor driver but now computer starts fine but monitor goes blank

Monitor drivers are built into windows OS, you can't uninstall the driver unless you went to devise MGR, monitor, and opened proprieties and hit uninstall, and even then when you restart windows, it will auto reinstall the hardware. So what you're saying does not make sense.

If you reboot and noting, try a system restore, if you have a windows disk, then run repair. But like I said, you don't install monitor drivers, DVD rom drivers, these are generic drivers that are made into windows. If you think a monitor has a driver that needs installing, explain how people install windows if they couldn't see the monitor.

Only onboard video and graph cards need drivers to run the video at its intended resolution, but it does not need a driver for the monitor, it's built into windows.

When i just switch on the laptop it appears a white blank screen. yet i can hear the starting sounds coming from the laptop. how i shall i overcome this problem?

If it's making all the right sounds as it normally would and it sounds like the operating system (windows, whatever) is loading, then try attaching the thing to an external monitor or LCD monitor (you can find one easily enough at work or at a friend's), turn it on, and see if it works good that way. If it works good with an external monitor, then the likelihood is the screen is bad.

If it turns on and you can hear it (fan, hard drive) but it ain't making all the right sounds, then we've got trouble (motherboard, something serious...)

Hi! I have a Toshiba Satellite M305D S4829 that won 't turn on. I can hear the fans starting but the screen remain black. I tried taking out the battery and just using the adapter but still nothing.

You need to plug it into an external screen to see if windows is loading. That way you will know if it the laptop screen it self or t something to do with the computer hardware.

If the fans am starting then you are getting power to the laptop however it may be shorting out just before bios as time to load so you will not get any display.

The best bet is to try and isolate the problem. Try attaching another montior to it and see if you get a display, this test is not always reliable because some laptops requires external monitors to be enabled using windows, so if your getting no output on the laptop screen it cant be done.

If you can get output using an external monitor then the monitor of the laptop may be broke or as become discounted from the motherboard.

When I boot into Windows Vista Premium nothing on screen

In Safe Mode, your monitor will not be listed as it is using a generic device driver for basic display. Go into your video settings and reset it to the lowest resolution available. Reboot the computer into Vista again and your display should be working. If you check Device Manager now, you should see your monitor listed. If it isn't, you will need to load the Vista drivers for it. You can then modify your display settings to suit your preferences.

MY HP LAPTOP DV9299EA

First, turn on the system and check if you can still hear the start up sound for Windows (XP / Vista). If you can still hear the sound, that means that the system is is running OK and it is just the connection of the LCD monitor to the motherboard. You can call the laptop's manufacturer to help you just reconnect the LCD cable to bring back the display.

If there is no sound, then try to connect an external Monitor to you laptop (CRT or LCD monitors will do..), check if there is a display on the external monitor (depending on the laptop model, you will have to press Fn + F1-12 (Check the drawing on the keyboard to know what to press). to transfer the display to the external monitor, if that is not working then there is a high possibility that the problem is on the video card.

have you tried to the "function+8" (or the number to transfer the signal to a monitor) when you are on the laptop with grey screen?
Did you said that grey, means that there is light on the laptop, but no colors, or that tha screen is not turned on?
