Question about Computers & Internet
I have two (Radio Shack in-house brand) Gigaware IDE enclosures with USB output.
Both work fine if I use only one to either a 4 port Linksys or R/Shack or Belkin usb hub, but if I use two G/W boxes to one 4 port hub, only one IDE drive is seen. Same problem exists with Win2k O/S or WinXP O/S
What's up Doc?

My guess is not enough power is available to run both devices at once.
Do your hubs have a external power supply?
Do the IDE Enclosures have a port for their own connection to a power supply?
The available power on a the pc's usb port is about 500ma (from memory)
Have a look at how much power your IDE disks actually need. It should be written on the label.
If the total is more than 500 ma then you will need to provide more power either via your usb hub or to the enclosure directly.
Hope this helps.
